Attraction details
Owner description: A scenic garden with stone walkways and spectacular mountain views and water features. The gardens were started in 1929 by Herman and Ruth Ohme and first open to the public in 1939. Enjoy a refreshing respite at this amazing evergreen oasis in the heart of Washington State. Nearly a mile of natural stone pathways traverses the hillside gardens, ushering you past breathtaking panoramic views, towering cedars and firs, lush foliage, mesmerizing waterfalls and tranquil pools. Stone benches located throughout the grounds provide ample opportunities to savor the beauty of Ohme Gardens. The average time to tour the Gardens is one hour. Visitors come back time and time again to view the ever changing vegetation in the gardens.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Tranquil, beautiful place to wander, sit and read, chat with friends. My husband and I bought a yearly pass just to visit and sit on the benches in a restful spot and read, to get away from the strees of hurried life.

“relaxing visit”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

My wife and I are in our early 50's and we just enjoyed the cool walk, views, flowers, trees and special locations. This is something special to visit while in Wenatchee.

“A beautiful day!”
Reviewed January 17, 2014 via mobile

Try the gardens off season. A beautiful view and the cool day makes for an invigorating walk along the paths. Try all four seasons for a variety of views...and crowds are less off season.

“Outstanding garden in the desert!”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Built around 70 years ago, Ohme Gardens is a place of greenery, beauty and quietude in the midst of a sagebrush covered hillside. The native evergreens and wonderful landscaping make it one of our favorites.

“A must visit for Wenatchee”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Go on a sunny day and bring your hiking shoes. Winding paths and serene pools make for a peaceful stroll. Plenty of shady spots to sit and enjoy the wonderful landscaping and stunning views. The only con is they will not allow you to bring in food, so no romantic picnic.
