My wife and I spent an evening recently at the Wenatchee Chieftain Best Western. It was comfortable, very clean, and we had a spacious room. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The staff were pleasant and efficient, and the breakfast good but modest in variety. The parking was very convenient and only a short walk to our room.

Unfortunately our room was near the pool and happy people were celebrating until the pool closed at 10. But it did close at 10, and quiet descended in time for us to get a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed.

One of the amenities I have come to appreciate is a comfortable chair or small couch, which the room lacked. It is probably a personal preference, but I now often sit with my notebook on my lap in the evening to compose correspondence or watch a video, and a desk and straight back chair isn't comfortable for that, and lying on the bed is not convenient for typing. The room needed more electrical outlets.....our digital devices are outrunning the power sources!

Considering the cost and our satisfaction, we would stay again at the Chieftain and we wouldn't hesitate recommending it to friends....perhaps avoiding rooms by the pool mid summer!!

Room Tip: Avoid poolside rooms mid summer to avoid happy, but persistent noise before 10PM

The high points of the stay are that the rooms are very large with a desk and chair, plus fridge and microwave. It also had a separate sink area to the bathroom. This is so handy when one person is using the toilet or shower and the other person can still continue to get ready. It was a girl’s road trip so this extra space was very much appreciated. I also appreciated the free Wi-Fi.

I loved that there was an outdoor pool and area to sit by it, but unfortunately (and obviously not a fault of the hotel) there was so much smoke in the area that we really limited our time outdoors. The towels for the pool are very small and so I would suggest that you bring your own.
Breakfast is the typical fare that is served in most hotels of this caliber. Scrambled eggs (but they didn’t taste like real eggs, maybe they were powdered eggs), and bacon, cereal, yogurt, waffles, bagels, and toast. There may be other things but I don’t eat wheat so I didn’t pay attention.

The staff were very nice and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you Amy and Megan for all your assistance. And the night desk gentleman was amazing. I am sorry that I don't remember his name.

Unfortunately none of the older hotels in Wenatchee were built for esthetics (there could be one in town but we didn’t spot it). The Best Western is a long hotel with a parking lot on either side. This is very convenient if you are here with a family and have a bunch of stuff to cart to your room, but otherwise it means that every view is of the parking lot. The best view were the rooms that looked over the pool. But, it really doesn’t matter because you can’t use your decks anyways because there is no furniture on them, and even if there was, you wouldn’t sit there because you are looking through tall wide wood slats which makes you feel like being in jail and why look anyways because you are looking at a parking lot. There isn’t anything to be done about this now, until the hotel gets so old and is taken down and a new one built in its place.

The hotel is well located with restaurants and shopping close by. You can also get to the river walk from the hotel without a car. The walk is beautiful. A highlight in Wenatchee.
If you have to come to Wenatchee, then this hotel is overall a good choice.

Everything went Great - Had a Great Stay - This place is very clean and the Staff was very friendly. The Breakfast Bar had a couple of minor problems - No Juice - breakfast sausage was barely warm and biscuits were dry. But for the Value this is a Very Good place to stay.

Good people at the front desk, real glass glasses, comfortable bed and room. The staff, with the exception of the breakfast attendant, were super helpful, even calling a restaurant and making reservations and calling a Best Western in Ellensburg for our next night.

We have stayed in Wenatchee many times and have always stayed at the Chieftain Inn. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable, especially if you have a king. They are centrally located to all shopping and restaurants, you could walk if you wanted to. There is ample parking at this property and they offer an outdoor pool and exercise room.
