Not worth it. $8 for a tasteless Caesar salad, $15 for a hamburger that had a wonderful onion jelly on it, but the meat patty itself had zero flavor. They have what they call "sexy" fries (fries with garlic and and a touch of parmesan). They serve it with their own "homemade" ketchup which was not to my liking, so I asked for ketchup and was charge .50 for it (no joke!). The bun would have been excellent had it not been burned. Also ordered the large portion size oysters ($28), which were good. Nice coating, but again lacked flavor. They did come with mashed potatoes (garlic) very average, and some string beans. We wanted and got extra tarter sauce and got it, so maybe that is where that extra .50 charge came from. We ordered a dessert to go and it was okay.

The atmosphere is in need of some lighting.. very dark in there. Nice music but yet had a tv on above the door. Staff was pleasant, prompt, and fast.

Over all: not horrible, but not worth the $75.

We went here for a celebratory dinner with a group of 15. I was starving. There were new menus on the table. The waitress first went and individually filled up 15 glasses of water, then we got menus. The food options looked great. We then gave our drink orders and had to ask if we could have some appetizers. Luckily, the answer was yes. We shared the "Sexy Fries" and they brought out some great bread.

I had the gnocchi and it was really good. Others enjoyed the salmon and the "kosher" rib (which really made me laugh). It was simply an ok meal

We had reservations including another couple for dinner. The restaurant was NOT busy (only three other tables being used). We were seated immediately. We kept waiting, waiting and waiting for service - a drink? water? How much time do you need to read a "short" menu?? There was no service. NADA. ZIP. So we left Staff seemed to be enjoying themselves chatting and not paying attention to patrons. We won't go back.

We ate at Miner's Drive-in for lunch so were in search of something small and healthy for dinner. Gilbert Cellars, next door, recommended 5 North. Great choice! Everything was fresh and delicious, with local asparagus, the best chickpea salad I've ever had, and Yakima-beer braised ribs that my husband cleaned to the bone. Perfect portions, too - no leftovers. My husband enjoyed his food so much that he actually requested dessert (strawberry shortcake) - VERY unusual for him. Great service, wonderful meal.

'5 North' is touted to be one of Yakima's best 'fine dining' restaurants. We didn't find it so. The ambience is somewhat confused, and the wait staff appears unsure of their menu offerings. All together not a good thing.
The menu items and wine availability are promising, but, alas, the food is simply ordinary.......with a tendency to be overcooked.
The prices are definitely at the high end, but the quality of the food, and the
entire dining experience is strictly mediocre. We might try '5 North' again, but not for a few years, and only after conferring with local folks who actually know. No recommendation here.
