This is a first class hotel. Downside is our first night we were put in a room at the back ('garden view') that had some type of machine outside that ran constantly with hum and vibration, so we couldn't open the windows. We were very disappointed, complained to the front desk and were moved the next night to a wonderful room (no extra charge). That room was awesome with a small balcony with a view of the lawns and canal. The grounds and facilities are first rate. They even have two resident kitties who roam the hotel, one made visit our room at 5am from the 2nd floor balcony! Since I am a cat lover I didn't mind.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not in the back corner of the left side U-shaped building.

We took our boat down the Hood Canal and docked at the marina at Alderbrook. Because we slept in the boat, we never saw the rooms, but the rest of the facility was beautiful and well-cared for from the lobby to the grounds and all the restrooms. We were able to take advantage of the pool and spa as well. We played two rounds of golf at the beautiful golf course and the shuttle drivers who took us to the course were out-going and friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. Our golfing experience was excellent from a well-groomed course to beautiful vistas. We ate at the terrace restaurant one night and in dining room the second night. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. We were SO pleased to find Alderbrook and now know what our friends who had stayed there were talking about. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: We did not use the spa or see the rooms and never had breakfast, so we had to check average.

This lodge is very nice with a great view of Hood Canal. They have three short nature walks that are pleasant. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is expensive but the catered meals we had were very good. We traveled with a group for a meeting and after leaving found out everyone had been double charged for their rooms because they had been prepaid and the credit cards at check in were for incidentals only.

I spent a few days at Alderbrook for a meeting recently and was delighted with the hotel and facilities, The lodge is well-kept and rooms are spacious; view of the water are beautiful. Once there, there is not much else. There are a few restaurants within driving range but I wouldn't have a cocktail given the winding roads and blind turns. There is not much shopping in the area-- except for a wine store. My recommendation would be to take your golf clubs and plan on doing nothing. If you are driving from SeaTac, I would think twice unless you are really committed to a few hour drive to relax.

Rain, shine, anywhere in between! Alderbrook is wonderful in any weather. Steam, sauna, swim! The pool is lovely, and so are the amenities. The spa is fabulous as well. Book a message, you won't regret it! Grounds are lovely, right on the Hood Canal, waterfront at its best!

Room Tip: It is fun to get a garden room if available, as they provide easy access to spa and dock.

I don't think you can find a better place to treat yourselves. Weather was beautiful and sunny when we were there. Staff was very attentive from start to bar/restaurant to spa. I felt everything was great down to the smallest detail like Moulton Brown amenities in room, Starbucks coffee and luxury furnishings. I loved the whole Northwest design...modern and yet used of lots of wood. I felt pampered. My husband and friend played golf while we wives went to spa. Rebecca gave me a wonderful massage.
