“Fine for one night, but will not stay here again.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2008

We stayed here Dec. 23rd after flying cross-country to WA from Florida. Stayed here one night before making the drive to central WA to visit my husband's family. We've stayed at the Doubletree and Hampton Inn at Seatac airport, and also the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah a couple of times, and I recommed all before staying at this hotel. We got a walk-in rate of $103, which is pretty standard around the airport area, and the breakfast was well above average. In fact, the free breakfast was my favorite part of our stay. The lobby was nice, decorated for Christmas, so I thought the rest of the hotel would be equally as nice. I was incorrect! The carpet in the hallway leading to our room was worn and stained. Our room was fine, but there were two bloody looking stains on the carpet in front of the fridge in our room. I didn't like the layout of the room either--especially the bathroom configuration. The room just didn't feel cozy, and had a unwelcoming feel. I do not plan to stay at this hotel again.

Since the guest last stayed with us, the pool has been renovated. The heaters were serviced, most recent date is February 2010. The fan was changed, and chemical systems was replaced all in February 2010. Please invite the guests to return to our property.

My husband & I stayed here with our 3 children. We had a wonderful time. The room was big enough for all of us. The hotel is extremely clean. Being next to the Family Fun Center was ideal for us. The people at the front desk were so helpful. We are looking forward to staying there again.

Stayed at the Comfort Suites Tukwila in late July. We found the hotel to be average, although convenient to the airport, shopping and restaurants.
The hotel offered a continental breakfast better than most, offering fruit, various pastries, cereal, waffles, french toast and beverages. The breakfast room was large but did fill up.
Our room was a decent size but had stains on the carpet. We stayed three nights and did not receive enough washcloths any night. When we asked for more on the third night, they did not have any and delivered hand towels.
The fitness room is small with minimal equipment; the indoor pool large, but we did not use it.
The staff seemed competent, but not especially friendly.
Overall, the hotel was OK, but nothing special. There are probably better choices.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites Tukwila from 6-29 to 7-1-07. The public areas (always make first impression good or bad) was impressive. The pool area was nice; the business center was a little small for the number of guest rooms and people staying at the hotel; the breakfast area looked large until the guests congregated there for breakfast in the morning. The employees in the breakfast area were very helpful and competent. The arrangement of the food line and seating should have been better thought-out, because it was bottlenecked most of the time, and there was never enough seating for everyone. If they had provided trays, people could have at least taken their food back to their rooms to eat.

Our room was comfortable, but the toilet malfunctioned. I informed the front desk staff the next morning, expecting the problem to be fixed by the end of the day. Unfortunately, it was not , and we had to MANUALLY manipulate the inner fixtures to get the thing to at least function for the night. In fact, the following morning the toilet plugged up, and it took over 1/2 hour for anyone to at least bring the plunger up to our room (we were in the process of checking out - not very good timing.)

After we had left and were on our way to Spokane, we realized that 5 items of clothing had been left in the closet to finish drying. I called, and the front desk staff informed me that I would need to fax a credit card confirmation to them requesting that they mail the clothes to me, because they didn't know how much the postage would be! Having had my debit card number stolen and illegally used online, I was not about to do that, and they would not accept a money order or check unless the amount was left blank (for them to fill it in~!). We were at the Seattle airport on 7-2, and I called them to request that they bag up our clothes and have the courtesy van driver run them over to meet me at the front door at the airport. Of course, they were not cooperative with that idea. FINALLY, after I returned to Lincoln, NE, we were able to schedule a call tag/prearranged pickup with UPS. Unfortunately, it took 2 or 3 'tries' for the Comfort Suites Tukwila staff to get their act together and have our clothes packaged up and waiting for the UPS driver to pick them up. I received them yesterday, 7-27-07, ALMOST ONE MONTH AFTER WE REQUESTED THAT THEY BE RETURNED TO US! If I were the manager of any lodging establishment, I would have just met the customer at the airport with the package, or I would have sent them to them. This was very unprofessional and a good way to kill future business.

I hope that the corportate office takes a good look at this property and sends some people in to retrain their employees on excellence and necessity of optimal customer service techniques and good, positive communication skills. If not, the Comfort Suites Tukwila will eventually do itself in with its lack of those basic offerings to their customers.

We stay here frequently with our two small children. The hotel is great. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is wonderful. The pool is a high point. If you have little children, there is a large wadding portion to the pool suitable for infants right up to teenagers. The only gripe I have with the hotel is its front desk staff. We have been here 6 times in the last three years, and the front desk staff are always rude and never smile.

Our experience contradicted some of the very positive reviews read on this site. First, the hotel is tired, the carpets are in need of change. Worse, we requested a quiet room, as my wife cannot sleep in a noisy environment. The room assigned was facing the freeway and was very noisy. I requested a room on the other side of the building, which was granted reluctantly. There it was quiet except for the occasional train, but around 1 a.m. we were overwhelmed by a strong stench of warm sewer. The smell remained in the room for the rest of the night.
Front desk staff were amateurish and barely polite.
Breakfast was good, shuttle bus driver was friendly and efficient. Location is very convenient for the airport and the large Southcenter mall.

  • Liked — location close to the airport but without aircraft noise
  • Disliked — smell

Stayed here on Christmas Eve 2006. Front desk staff attitude indifferent and unprofessional (eating at desk). NIce lobby. Stayed in a King room on second floor next to the elevator. Had requested top floor, was told that those rooms were given to airline flight personnel. NIcely appointed room. Would have reported that the room was exceptionally clean except for a couple of unappealing large stains on the carpet in front of the refrigerator. Bathroom spotless. Heard some noise from surrounding rooms (TV, snoring). Used the business center computer. Breakfast had good selection and breakfast staff very pleasant and keep things stocked. Clean and large breakfast room. Best things about the hotel was the breakfast experience and the well decorated room. Worst was the stained carpet and the thin walls.
