We love this Mexican restaurant. We use to go to Moctezuma's, but they got cheap on the Pollo Ranchero, so we now enjoy the great food at La Fondita II.

We were seated right away, it took a bit to get chips & salsa (there were four other tables not including us)...the waitress was kind and doing her best. We ordered the 'bean dip' expecting to be given dip made of beans. The menu simply listed bean dip. No other description. Below it was another item, 'bean & beef dip'. We recieved Bean & Beef dip. We inquired as to why there was beef in it, the waitress noted that it came that way. We thought that was odd. She offered to bring out plain beans...which struck us as more odd given that we ordered the plain "bean dip". Long story short: When the bill came we has been charged for "bean dip" + beef for an additional $2. Cleary $2 is not a deal breaker here, but its principle. We requested that it be taken off and the manager refused, "because they ate it". We then requested to see the manager. He never appeared, however the waitress came out 5 minutes later and said they would take it off this time...In these tough economic times this is NOT the way to build business and we do not plan to recommend this restaurant or ever return. The manager should have come out and spoke to us given that by the time we paid the bill at 8pm the place was empty...but then again maybe this is why he squabbled over $2 and forgot the business man's mantra, "the customer is always right."

Best mexican in Tacoma??? Not close. We've eaten there twice. Would only return for margarita's. Had the Mole the 1st time, meat was over-cooked and dry. On second trip we had the same problem. Ordered two of their signature dishes, carnitas and carne asada. Would have gotten by if it was $7 a plate, but not $15-16. Much better elsewhere. I guess it will get you by if you live in Proctor and craving mexican. Was hoping for much more. Grew up in SE Washington and have been to small towns in Mexico, so I've got an idea what is good mexican.
