love the food and love the staff. I have been here several times and never disappointed. Be sure to stop by for a drink (if you can get in) before a concert or the next day after for breakfast. we have seen several bands or members of bands in here to eat.

Alfred's has a lot of history so be sure to ask a staff person about it. The comfort food is good and reasonably priced. It's located in the Dome district and Freighthouse Square is a block away if you want to shop.

All I can say is wow...

This was mine and my girls first visit. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, she ordered the Bacon Waffle. What was so epic about the meal were all the little things they got right:

The onions and peppers in the O'brian Potatoes were crisp but cooked.
The eggs were done to a perfect turn.
The potatoes were crisp and pillowy.
The butter was placed next to the syrup, so was soft and spreadable.
The coffee was hot.
The service was nothing short of impeccable.

This wasn't just a meal, it was a fantastic experience.

They are a breathing example of what Tacoma is: hard working, hard luck town where we take care each other.

Gods took great care of us.

We went to Tacoma specifically looking for a new place to try for breakfast. We saw that this location had a packed parking lot, always a good sign when looking for a place to go. The menu had a good variety and the prices were affordable for a family breakfast. We chose three different items and had more than enough food to share. The blueberry pancakes were loaded with fresh blueberries! The coffee was tasty as well. It had an old-stlye cafe feel. And it was clean & neat. The staff was friendly and helpful. We recommend this for breakfast for sure and would love to try it for lunch or dinner sometime.
