The place is small, just few tables in two different levels. A wide wooden stair case with few steps leads to the lower level, from where you can the kitchen. The upper level overlooks the lower level through a rail. The lighting is not very bright, which is good. The predominant color is a warm darkish red. We liked the long drapes hanging in different parts of the restaurant adding to the charm of the place and the red brick walls. We really liked the atmosphere and decor, although I can see how the decor could remind how the whole decoration could remind an old French brothel, but I did not mean this as a negative. The server, a student from the University of Puget Sound, was excellent! The food was excellent, too, both in taste and high quality. However, there are some things in the menu that did not live up to the description on the menu. For example, the “croutes de fromage” is described as Gruyere cheese melted between slices of sourdough soaked in a sweet white wine sauce and grilled to perfections served with apricot marmalade and a bit of sweet. The long description did not hide the fact that it was a grilled cheese sandwich, so we were expecting that, but, we thought it would be the best and most interesting grilled cheese sandwich that we had, and it was not. The rest of the starters and entrees were very very good. The salmon and the steak were cooked perfectly and the tasted amazing. Overall, we do recommend this place and when out trips bring us back to Tacoma, we will make sure we go back.

Had lunch with a friend today and was pleasantly surprised! Charming location in a historic brick building. The place was busy but not frantic and the atmosphere was one for sitting and talking while enjoying good food. Had the soup/chef's selection salad/and grilled cheese sandwhich - all of which were tasty and the right portion size. Also, terrific value for a lunch combo at just $10 bucks. Will be back for dinner with the husband - I could see this being a very romantic spot at night.

Great little restaurant that is tucked away in an otherwise unassuming building. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate and beautiful. There is limited seating, so be sure to call ahead and make sure there is room. The crab bisque was amazing, and the chicken parmesan was just as perfect. The wine selection pairs well with nearly anything on their menu. The service was chipper and welcoming. This place has it all... reminds me of a vintage Italian restaurant that has the best food in a hole-in-the-wall location. Great place!

Went for a late lunch here on a Tuesday. It was fabulous. The selection of menu item listed for lunch were really varied. I chose a turkey and cheese hot sandwich with a pesto base that was scrumptious. Each sandwich was served with the "chef's salad" of the day. This day's feature was a potato salad. It was one of the best I have ever had. It was put through a food mill or something so that there were no chunks. It was small, an ice scream scoop size, but fabulous. The atmosphere is kinda funky and fun. We loved this place.

After reading many positive reviews, my husband and I gave Over The Moon a try! Loved it! Service was great .... Attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious and dessert was fantastic! Restaurant is located in a restored, historic building. Very romantic. We will be back.
