Great local pub. Outstanding selection of US craft beers, micros you may never have heard of. Staff knows their beer. Taps rotate on a quite regular basis - no worries about old kegs here! Kitchen is limited (no deep fryer here) but Really good burgers, soups change day to day ( I dig the carrot kielbasa, and tomato Gorgonzola...). Local flavor is strong, in a good way - always easy to strike up a conversation at the bar..... Outside seats in good weather. They have special nights which focus on a brewery, or on a style of beer (the IPA fest is great)..my favorite is " honey the Parkway ruined Thanksgiving".... Overall a wonderful local pub with great beers and good pub fare....

The Parkway first came to our attention years ago. It made the front-page news when a disgruntled and extremely inebriated customer drove his pickup truck through the front wall. After they rebuilt the place, they installed a stone wall around the front to discourage future demolition derbies.

Tacoma is known for its neighborhood bars. The Parkway is a great example. Right across from the Little Theatre, and just two blocks from Wright Park, the Parkway is a haven for locals. There are a few booths and tables to the left as you come in, to the right are high tables with stools. The bar stretches across the back wall. In the back rooms there are billards and more tables.

They have a wide and often-changing selection of regional brews, a full bar, TVs, and a diverse customer base, from bikers to lawyers to students to actors. We like their nachos for dinner, and tried their small dinner salad this last time. The small dinner salad was a meal in itself, and the nachos were good as always.

Service was quick and responsive, they had a couple of stouts that hit the spot (Guiness isn't our thing), and the option of paying at the bar accelerated our departure in time for the theatre.

Not gourmet, just good down-home bar and grill.
