“Solid choice in Proctor district”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Calamari appetizer was just OK, but I enjoyed my main course (salad with grilled shrimp), as did others in my party. We would go back again.

“Rob in the bar will make your date night ideal!”
Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

We arrived late for dinner on a Saturday night, no reservations. It was warm and all the widows were open to the street. The restaurant was still a bit crowded and noisy so we looked to the bar and were immediately accommodated.

Rob and the hostess got us comfortable at the window seat in the bar and Rob made the rest of our date night perfect! He offered wine tasting, recommended dinner options, and was completely attentive during our visit. Oh... The food was really good too... But as you know, the service makes or breaks any dining experience!

Thanks, Rob! Do dinner at Pomodoro in the bar!!

“Great meal!”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

We were a bit depressed on our trip to Tacoma remembering our previous summer in Italy. But, finding this great Italian restaurant really made our day. The food was great and the staff were wonderful. Highly recommended.

“Quaint and Friendly”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Enormous dinner menu!! There could be 50 Italian entrees to choose from. I didn't know there were that many pasta dishes. We were early and seated at the best table in the house. The place flooded with hungry diners soon after. Friendly and efficient wait staff (2) for a small efficient restaurant. Full bar and wine menu as well. Best antipasto in town and I really mean that!! GREAT evening special which was $5.00 over the average price ($15.00) of nearly every entree on the menu. Very comfortable and pleasing atmosphere which got a little loud with the crowd but never annoying. I WILL return!!

“Some Good, Some Just Average”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Last night was our second visit for dinner to Pomodoro.
Here's my take, starting with the pros:
Friendly servers and staff
Good pours from the bar for cocktails
Desserts are tasty.
Entree portions are huge
Starters are flavorful and there is a good selection.

Now the cons:
Very noisy, one of those places where conversation at a normal level won't be heard by your dinner mates across the table.
Entrees are just "meh", seem a bit institutional. Standard Italian stuff on offer, but lacking any zing that makes them stand out from any other Italian restaurant.
Our server, while very friendly and helpful, ignored us for long stretches of time. We waited a long time to be acknowledged after being seated, then even longer after we'd ordered apps before they came, and then even longer to order our mains.
She was at the neighboring tables numerous times during this time, it's almost as if she forgot about us.
