“Fondue Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We visited this last month for our anniversary, and it was absolutely excellent. We did have a reservation, and the only glitch was the long wait before we were seated.
We had a great cheese fondue for starters, we went deluxe with the entree, and finished with a simple chocolate fondue, which were all to die for. The only complaint was that we were SOOOO full when we left, but that is to be expected.
We have visited in other parts of the country, and this one is definitely well above the others we have visited. The only real complaint is the lack of parking in the area, which made it tough on a Friday night. Otherwise, they have our unqualified 5 star rating for their food and presentation. Just don't go when you aren't very hungry.

“Four course meal is the way to enjoy this experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

I had been to a melting pot before but had never had the four course meal. You must go starving to enjoy. What a fun experience. We had a table of seven so had to agree on our sauces. The first course there was a bit too much bread and not enough apple but the cheese sauces were excellent. Salads were good. The choices for the meat and seafood course were plentiful so we each ordered our own and enjoyed cooking together. The chocolate fondue dessert was fabulous. Would have preferred more fruit perhaps including pineapple and Granny Smith apples with less marshmallow, rice Krispy treats, etc. What a fun experience.

“All about the experience!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

First off, you have to reservations- you will wait hours if you do not have one. So plan ahead! The bar area is great to wait in, but drinks are pretty expensive so be careful.
Most of the waiters are very knowledgable, I just wish the menu had more options. Pretty much the only option is to get the four course meal so it can be a lot of food. I reccomend going with another couple as it is a long but fun experience.

“Ending up being a good time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

We bought a Living Social coupon for The Melting Pot because I had always heard about it but had heard that it was spendy. I had always wanted to go there and was very excited.

We called for reservations and was offered either 4:30 or 8:00 so we chose the earlier time because we're old, ha. We got there and had to stand in the lobby for 3-5 minutes even though there were 4 people at the desk and the place wasn't busy. That gave us time to notice how dirty the rug was and how much it needed vacuuming.

We were finally seated and it took quite a while for our waiter to come, no one offered water or anything. We looked at each other and were wondering if we had made a big mistake.

Then our waiter, Todd, came and from then on it was all uphill. We had no idea how the experience worked and he was very patient to explain everything to us. The coupon didn't include the cheese so we added the cheese for one person and shared it. It was plenty and I didn't think we needed $17 worth of cheese. The cheese itself was good but the bread and stuff to dip in it was unimpressive.

The salads were good and then came the main course. We chose the complimentary broth style of cooking, all other styles cost more. Although the broth was super salty, it was delicious and fun to cook our own food. The dips they brought were fun and tasty.

The coupon included two glasses of champagne, I drank them both and they were light and fruity and lovely.

By the time dessert came, we were stuffed but the chocolate was so good, we ate util we were uncomfortable. We got the classic chocolate and peanut butter dip.

The manager came over at one point and thanked us for coming, thanked us for using the Living Social and asked us to spread the word. It was a very nice touch.

So despite a bit of a rocky start, we had a good experience.

“Groupon Deal Not such a Good Deal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

Friends of ours bought the $96 Groupon dinner for 4. My wife & I had eaten at the Melting Pot previously & thought it was ok. We decided to go with another couple as we heard it’s more fun with friends. First off you have to go by their guidelines on choices for dinner or pay extra. Cheese fondue was not included in the deal—so that was $8.99 extra [per person]. After a very fast (like a Jimmy Johns commercial) explanation from the waitress on how to order our food....we looked at each other & were all like...what? The food portions are small except you get quite a bit for the chocolate fondue dessert. They will give you more veggies and desserts for dipping if you ask. As you probably know you do your own cooking at the table. Suggestion...since all the food needs to be cooked at various times consider placing a timer on the table for customers. For the price & quality of food I feel there are better meals out there with your food cooked & served. Looking at the crowd size on that Thursday night this place is overrated—but possibly it was at the end of the Groupon expiration date so many customers were using before losing. Noticed same Groupon deal [or not] was back this week.
