The hassle, clean up, and expense of cooking a holiday meal got you down? If you're in the Tacoma area... Stanley and Seafort have you covered.

Food is good and when you factor in time and grocery expenses it's pretty reasonable on cost.

There's a great view of the city too.

Tried to eat lunch here and was sorely disappointed in both lunches. My friend had ordered a medium cooked hamburger, and when it came the bun was burned beyond capability to eat it. The burger was medium rare and she could not eat it. They did take that off the bill. I was looking forward to a lobster bisque, which came and was the worst one I have ever tasted. I ate the actual lobster out of it, but left the rest, and curiously, the waitress made no comment on finding an almost full bowl left at bill time....it was way too salty and actually tasted a bit off, like the sour cream used in it was a bit past it's time.......

I will start out saying that, other than the somewhat "curt" server in the bar (otherwise this would be rated excellent) our meal & service in the dining room was fabulous ! We both ordered a daily special. My husband ordered the halibut cheeks & I had the pork tenderloin. Both cooked to perfection :)The wedge salad & Maytag blue cheese salad were served prior to our entrees and were fresh & yummy. No dessert that night, salads, dinner & a good bottle of wine were all that we could manage. We will return again and maybe save room for dessert :)

We had a delicious lunch. The crabcake Benedict's were awesome, as well as the French toast pear bread pudding. A nice surprising drink was strawberry lemonade. The view of Tacoma Port is amazing from the restaurant.

A great place with an excellent view of the city and surrounding area. Latest visit was just as good as always. Prices are a little on the higher side for regular dining but for special occasions it is well worth it. Excellent selection of meals and appetizers that most people can find something to their liking. A fresh menu rotates regularly during the seasons to highlight what is available. Service is always top notch with friendly and knowledgeable staff that is there when you want them but not hovering around when you don't. Excellent beer/wine/spirits selection with a lot of local choices as well as imports. Tried the fresh selection version of "Surf & Turf" which consisted of beautifully cooked halibut cheeks and filet mignon medallions with grilled asparagus. Prepared as ordered and well presented with good portion size. The wife had the grilled salmon with a wonderful teriyaki/pineapple glaze that had a little heat to it, that was just as good. There really is no bad place to sit, with every table having at least a partial view of the city and the water but the window seating is the preferred place. Wonderful sweeping views of downtown Tacoma and the water front make for a romantic evening at sunset or on a stormy winters evening. Finish off the evening with a delightful choice from the desert menu and a cordial. Valet parking available but there is ample parking across the street for free. They also have a fairly large bar area that you can sit in for more casual dining with specials and also their regular menu. Excellence all around!
