The LeMay American Car Museum is an amazing collection of automobiles (and some motorcycles) in an absolutely phenomenal building. The love of cars - cars of every type and vintage - is evident throughout. The museum curator has done an outstanding job of selecting (on a rotating basis,) a group of exhibits that truly highlight the vehicles. When we were there, Corvettes were being showcased. However, there were also an outstanding collection of horseless carriages (some manufacturers which we'd never heard of, and we love old cars,) as well as more contemporary cars from the 50's on into the 90's. Signage is wonderfully done, with fascinating tidbits of information about almost every car. Every single car had been painstakingly restored and were absolutely gleaming. Four floors of exhibits took us over three hours, and we could have taken longer if our legs weren't so tired.
The museum building itself is architecturally fascinating, and the west wall is entirely glass, looking out over the Sound. This was a wonderful experience.
