Two main things about this place is first. The bridge with more interesting glass works outside then there is inside and you can see it for free. Second...go inside to see glass blowing happening live. That is worth it. But if you want breath taking beauty go to the Dale Chihule Glass Museum at the base of the Space Needle..now that takes your breath away.

My wife and I visited the museum based on the recommendation of a friend. It was well worth the time and money. On the day we visited the glass artists and student glass artists were creating their works. We sat for over 2 hours watching the creative process. What a great experience for the students involved in learning this skill.

Even if you don't go inside (but you should), stop by this museum because the entrance is filled with glass works on the bridge. The building itself is amazing. The cone is actually the hot shop where they do the glass blowing. And be sure to see the beautiful white glass sculpture in the water on the harbor side of the building. Absolutely stunning work from artists around the world inside. The shop has astounding pieces for sale as well. I went early on a work day and pretty much had the place to myself. Highly recommended!

The glass museum has extensive outdoor displays that are well worth viewing. My favorite is the glass bridge which has nearly as much glass art on display as the museum contains. They also have a rotating exhibit in their fountain area out front that is always interesting.

We went the Museum before we viewed Chihuly's Bridge of Glass. You can follow a guided tour for no extra charge, or go through on your own. We chose the tour and were so glad we did. She was very knowledgeable about the pieces and the processes used to make them. Little by little people joined our group and were glad they did - simply looking at them doesn't invest you in the art as much as being educated about them. We then went outside to the Bridge of Glass - displays of Chihuly's creations and then you look up and see a colorful myriad of shapes and sizes in vast quantities - amazing. I loved the Crystal Towers and wish we had been able to be there after sundown to see it all illuminated but time constraints prohibited that. I was glad we visited.
