Just like a previous reviewer, we got a Groupon thinking it was for the other place on the freeway. Since it was no good there, we bought tickets anyway and enjoyed ourselves.

Flash forward a year and a half and our visitors return wanting to try the Marymount location. Again, our expired Groupon was accepted.

this is a huge collection and a MUCH better experience than the other place. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining. Even my better half, who has no interest in cars at all, was entertained.

The saddest part for me was that I got to see at least a half a dozen cars there like the ones that I had owned a a kid. I guess that means I am OLD! ;-)

Great preservation of a historic landmark to house and display some of the amazing private collections of Harold LeMay. Worth the visit, a must on any car enthusiasts bucket list.

Don't miss the Marymount Museum. This place is a car lovers dream. The day we went our tour was eight people or so. The tour guide was very informative & fun to chat with. There is so many types of cars to see. They do a big open house in early Sept that's fun. But a viewing at other times of the year is a treat

Many moons ago we bought a GroupOn for the LeMay. When we decided to use the GroupOn, we searched for LeMay, found the other museum right off the highway in downtown Tacoma, and we were on our way. When we got there, they explained our mistake, implied the Marymount museum was quite a long way away, and so we decided to keep the groupon for another day and check out the museum we had fought so hard to find a parking spot for. We had a great time, but...

Flash forward many months. The GroupOn long since expired, but we wanted to get the amount we paid back, so we decided to visit the "second" LeMay museum. Image my surprise when they agreed to honor the promotional amount of the GroupOn despite the fact that it expired months ago.

We were really impressed with the variety of cars in the primary building and how close we were able to get. The trip only improved when we were given a private volunteer guide who took us out to the other two buildings. Despite how late in the day it was, he stayed with us an hour after closing so that we could see each of the cars and told us great stories about how they were collected and their histories.

Yes, there were many cars in storage on the second and third levels of the two external buildings. Given that our trip took about 3 hours already, I think it's safe to say that we would have been there all day had we been able to see the other two floors, so I don't consider it a negative.

We were one of about 10 guests visiting during the three hours we were there. We were never rushed. We never had someone pop in front of our view because they could. It was a totally different, much more personal experience.

While we enjoyed both, the LeMay Museum at Marymount was by far the better experience in Tacoma.
