“Delicious with a view”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

We were Duke's for dinner with friends, who recommended going there and we were not disappointed. The view over Commencement Bay is fantastic and the food is, too. I tried the 5 chowder variations and the halibut with macademia nut crust. Wow! The salmon ravioli are delicious, too. Staff is very friendly. Absolutely recommended.

“Chowder samplers are great!”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

The Duke's on the Tacoma waterfront is a nice casual spot to stop in for some great seafood at reasonable prices. We thoroughly enjoyed the chowder sampler as an appetizer (our favorite was the lobster) along with their wonderful fresh sourdough. The salads were very fresh and flavorful, while not being too much to leave room for the main course. The entrees were nicely presented and filling, and the service was very good.

“Chock full of Clams”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

Located on the waterfront, views of the harbour, excellent atmosphere, great service - and very good chowder. There are a few to choose from but I had "Duke's Award Winning Clam Chowder" with a basket of sourdough bread. Wonderful lunch. 1 quart of this chowder includes 1 lb of all natural Surf Clams, 1 1/2 cups clam juice, 1 oz clam base, 4 strips nitrite free bacon, butter, celery, onion, basil, thyme, marjoram, black pepper, 2 cups diced red potatoes, garlic, parsley, dill, flour, milk and 2 1/2 cups heavy cream.

“Great Kids Menu, Great View, Great Service”
Reviewed January 16, 2014 via mobile

We love coming here as a family after we visit the nearby children's museum. They have the best crab cakes and the most delicious chowder. It is on the pricey side. Which would be the only negative.
