This musueum provides information about the native Americans, the first residents of the Gorge and then Lewis & Clark follwed by the settlers right up to modern times. did you know Stevenson was the Las Vegas of it's time....you could get a marriage license and get hoitched all in the same day. Lots of excellent displays in a very interesting building.

We stopped here first. What a good idea. They had maps and info that was not in my guidebooks.

convenient place to grab tourist Map (quite useful) and side seeing info. The lady there was helpful and pleasant. I did not see the museum.

Very nice large new building, well laid out, with lots information on local history. Local Native American culture and history, Lewis and Clark Expedition, fishing industry on the Columbia, hydro-elective projects, and local logging, river transportation, and farming.
