“Spokane's Very Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2009

My wife and I loved our dining experience at Wild Sage. Others had recommended Luna and Anthony's and they were both nice but not much Wow. Until Wild Sage. Intimate, clubby, classy and friendly. But best of all was the food. Truly exceptional.

“Awesome, tasty food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2008

There were 4 of us who went to Wild Sage on a recommendation from another friend. The hotel recommended it as well. Ambiance was great. It's just a small bistro, but now too crowded. Very clean and stylish and the owner, Tom, made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The waiter we had was a little slow, but that didn't affect our evening. We asked for recommendations from our waiter, who did not disappoint.

We all had the warm spinach salad with candied walnuts and we each had a different entree. The portion size was right on for everything, everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered the chicken alfredo, which the waiter said was unlike any other. He was right. The chicken had a parmesan crust, very tender. The sauce had a hint of home made honey mustard that gave the sauce a extra kick of flavor, it was great. Popovers were really good, too.

I have nothing bad to say about the place.

“Food lovers enjoy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2008

I happened upon Wild Sage by accident and have been back everytime I am in Spokanem a total of six times in three months. The atmosphere is great, the food was without flaw and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. The chef has produced amazing creations. The yorkshire pudding muffins with lavender butter are incredible. The creme Brulee was fabulous. I tried something different each time. If you are a foodie, great spice combinations, superb wine list, and charming atmosphere, all make this a must try place.

“What an Absolute Disappointment - Service was Horrendous!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2008

We heard about the WILD SAGE AMERICAN BISTRO, so we thought we'd give it a try.

The 1st time we went there the service was rude, slow, and provential.

We thought we might have had a bad experience, so we thought we'd try it again, a month later.

To make a long story short, the service was still bad -- Both times it's been consistent; and an absolute disappointment.

Here's the highlights & consistent pattern for both visits:

- Downtown Spokane
- Business is waining since it opened, so easier to get in

- Unfriendly Service
- Provincial, Rude, & Haughty
- Slow to move customers from waiting area to tables
- Small Waiting Area - Conflicts with Tables (People Sitting)
- Overpriced -- Food not worth the Entree-Prices
- Staff needs Customer Service Training (ie: Who's the Customer)

Summary: Not Recommended - Much better choices in Spokane

“Enjoyed them since they opened”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2008

We have enjoyed Wild Sage since they opened, and it has been fun to watch them find their niche.

Traditionally the owners will greet you, seat you and turn you over to one of their very able servers. Every table was full when we arrived but our reserved table was ready immediately for us.

Service is quite efficient, they are there when you need them, check on the table frequently, but never interupt conversation.

The ever changing menu is always tempting, (oh which meal to pick). It invites you to come back the next day to try your second choice. But after they describe the evening feature you realize you will have to come back again for your first choice, cause you have to have the feature of the day.

We had the calamari with a sweet pepper sauce, a delightful introduction to our meal. The calamari was tenderly coated and cooked to perfection.

We moved into the salad coarse; one spinich salad with a light vinigerette and two of us with a lighter salad with apple slivers and golden beets, definitively distict and signature.

Our steaks were perfectly cooked (one medium and one medium rare) set over a delightful potato agraten and a delicate reduction sauce. Classic yes, but oh my, classic with a flare of individuality specific to Wild Sage.

The atmosphere is simple with a dark woods, hardwood and tile floors, soothing colors. With all those hard surfaces you might think the restaurant might be noisy, but we never had a problem carring on a conversation.

Tom and Alexa: Thank you, Bravo, Encore!!!!!!
