We got to attend the combined production by the Civic Theater and the Spokane Symphony last weekend. The production was great, but also spent time before and after the show admiring the art work and architecture of this renovated theater.

Martin Woldson Theater is a beautifully restored Art Deco concert hall in the European tradition. Enjoyment of a great performance of Beethoven,s 9th by the surprisingly gifted Spokane symphony, joined by the Spokane Corral and guest soloists, was enhanced by the rooms perfect acoustics, and with the stunning visual details one feels as if perhaps transported to Vienna or Milano. Multi-level lobby with flowing staircases, and many convenient refreshment bars, makes intermission a people watching and friend meeting paradise. Spokane is so fortunate to have this gem!

In June we went to Spokane for the wedding of my partner's great niece and wedding was held at the Fox Theater. It was a wonderful venue, and a great site for a wedding. The ceremony was held on the stage, so there was ample room for any size crowd. We were impressed with how well preserved they made this theater in the Art Deco style. It will be a wedding to remember forever.

One of a kind theater preserved the Art Deco era in all its glory. Totally restored to almost original architecture and design. Excellent location for plays, symphony, etc. A must see in Spokane.

It's always nice to listen to the Spokane Orchestra's Christmas program, and everybody dresses up fabulously for the occasion. Throw in a couple hours beforehand at the Davenport for dinner and Christmas tree raffle shopping and you have a night full of memories with friends or loved ones.
