“Longhorn Special”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

The Longhorn Barbecue is a great place for a barbecue sandwich. I recommend the Longhorn Special, which is a huge sandwich that comes with a couple of sides of your choice. The brisket and pulled pork are hard to beat. I love the Longhorn barbecue sauce because, unlike many other barbecue sauces, it is not too sweet. Fortunately, the sauce can even be purchased in local grocery stores for home use.

Personally, I far prefer the barbecue sandwiches over the Longhorn dinners or the all you can eat buffet.

The Airway Heights location has a very nice bar, and if you are in need of a big glass of beer, the Longhorn can accommodate.

“Worst BBQ Food ever....”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

Have eaten at this Longhorn Steakhouse 3 times in the last 6 years. Hoped it would improve each time, however, it was actually worse. Steaks are never prepared properly according to specification. Med. steak was tough and chewy. Baked potato was always very small and overcooked. The food and the BBQ just is not very good. Wait staff is cordial though always seem in a hurry to get your order and move on. The interior is not the cleanest to be honest, but not the worst either. Just never enjoyed our meals at this place...not the staff, the food or the decor. Felt their TV commercials were misleading and false especially concerning the quality and taste of their food. Tried 3 times to give them a chance to improve, but it got worse. We won't be eating here again.

“Just OK”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

We had an early dinner at this place. It was busy but not crowded. Our service was prompt and courteous. My prime rib was very good. My wife's top sirloin was tough although cooked to her satisfaction. We ordered double vegatables instead of mashed potatoes and we got 5 sticks of asparagus each. The prices were way more than other steak houses.

“Longhorn BBQ in Airway Heights near airport”

Fantastic---the real deal! True BBQ, great salad bar. Fantastic breakfasts as well. We ate here a dozen times during our 6 week stay in the area and were never disappointed.

“Keeping it real”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

There are fewer and fewer places like this left nowadays as it seems like this place is hanging on against the mass-market chains and same-same plastic fast food corporations . As we only go for breakfast, I have no idea of it's 'barbeque' credentials, but if they are anywhere near as good as the pancakes maybe we'll make an evening trip one day.

Staff remembered us from a year before!! Where else do you get that? Great attention to the children, fabulous prices (lower than chains like Denny's and IHOP), massive, massive portions all underwritten with genuine, authentic care and courtesy. No wonder the locals who know go here. Old world charm and an atmosphere to match.
