Breakfast today when Franks was too packed. Hadn't been to Satellite since I used to be out too late :). Place is updated a bit and still has great no-nonsense food. My only dislike was the pancakes that were unbalanced and very sweet. Menu did say that they used sweet cream, so there was fair warning, but the balance was not what I look for. A good pancake needs syrup. That's why buttermilk does so well.

But that aside, Fabulous bacon, eggs, hash browns, and piping hot coffee the way it should be.

I'll be back.

We were in Spokane in May, during a busy weekend for the city and found ourselves on the street early Sunday morning looking for a place to have breakfast as the hotel restaurant was booked and had a two hour wait. We wandered around downtown looking for somewhere to eat without getting our car out until we came across another fellow walking. He gave us kind of vague directions to the Satellite Diner saying he had heard it was pretty good. When we walked up to it we had some trepidation as it looked like a saloon and a little on the "rough" side....but we went in and ordered breakfast. Turns out our timing was perfect because shortly after that, a line began forming at the door of people who obviously came there often. Breakfast was delicious and more than ample, and although it is small, crowded and a little "rustic" the choice was a great one.

Shoutout to Rashel and Jamie, two of the best servers ever! The best breakfasts and comfort food in all of Spokane. The service can't be beat.

The menu is good. The prices are good. The spicy bloody mary's were some of the best I've had. The waitress' were a lot of fun and did an excellent job.

This little place looks outwardly kind of run-down, and being attached to a "lounge", not a kind of place I'd normally eat (not being snobby - just tellin' the truth). We went for Sunday breakfast, and were so pleasantly surprised! The food was fabulous, the service was good and the coffee was strong and plentiful. The restaurant interior is actually much better than the outside........just proving the old adage, "you can't tell a book by its cover!".
