Beautiful place full of flowers of all different colors and even some trees. Many of them have markers with their names on it.

When I lived in Spokane, Manito Park was a place I retreated to for exercise, solace, peace, socializing and photography. It's a great spot for all that. It's also situated within the most charming neighborhood in town (the South Hill). If you are at all interested in the bungalow style of home, the South Hill is super fun to drive around 'ooh'ing and 'ahh'ing out the window.

Like many urban parks, Manito has many 'sections' with themes. I particularly enjoy the Japanese Garden and the lilac garden. I highly recommend both.

I don't know why it has taken me this long to check out Manito Park. We're up in Spokane on a semi-regular basis visiting family and this trip was the first time we went to the park. The Japanese Garden in particular was blooming beautifully. Oh and the conservatory was spectacular as well. We only saw a small part of the park but you can bet I'll be back on future visits!

Manito Park is a cherished spot in Spokane. You can watch the geese on the lake, run wild with your kids, stroll through the beautiful gardens, or go catch your zen in the Japanese gardens. Plant sales happen several times a year, and the conservatory is a fabulous place to see cacti and orchids, among other species. Sledding is always a favorite in winter, down hills used by generations of families. Grab lunch in the park cafe, and then sit under huge trees to enjoy your meal. Watch the local paper for concerts available during the summer.

It is the place to go when you want to enjoy the outdoors in the Lilac City.

Fantastic place for a family outing. Plenty of place to play. Bring your picnic. Feed the ducks.
There are nice walking paths and beautiful flowers and plants.
