“Gem of a Botanical Garden”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

This beautiful park includes botanical gardens. There is an amazing formal "Versailles" like garden , a perennial and rose garden. We had the luck to go there on a Friday night when they have live concerts down at the coffee shop. It's beautiful and it's a park, so there are no charges to get in! There is a small water playground for the kids with very clever features, like buckets dumping water when they get to full. Super cute!

“Nice gardens”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Has a Lilac garden in full bloom in early May. Also has a nice, small Japanese garden. Also a nice conservatory. Most of the rest of the garden was not in bloom in early May.

“What a great park!”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our several visits to different areas of Manito Park. And with 90 acres, there is lots to see. The kids had a great time at the little playground near the duck pond. Then we took a walk up the hill to the splash park - it was a very warm day and the splash park was the perfect way to cool off. On our next visit to Spokane, this park will be tops on our list.

“Couldn't believe this was a public park!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

My husband and I are from California where parks generally consist of green grass and playground equipment for the kids usually surrounded by sand or a rubber surface for safety. Manito Park was wow! I was simply amazed at the varied garden areas as well as the amount and quality of flowers. My husband parked the car at the Japanese Garden area and simply walked. The whole park is stroller/wheelchair friendly. When we were at Duncan Gardens there were a crew of gardeners putting in new plants, but it still looked gorgeous. At the farthest end, there was a formal stone structure for seating. Then there was a conservatory with various types of plants. There was a large lake area where people could simply pick a bench and sit there to read a book or eat lunch. Families were having a grand time feeding the ducks. My favorite area was the Japanese Garden where there were traditional Japanese plants (like maple trees) a pond containing koi and a flock of ducks. Also the traditional decor of a waterfall, bridge and stone structures/rocks. It just happened there were also a bunch of goslings. They were so cute as they were paddling around the lake. Of course, there was a machine that enabled a visitor to purchase food to feed them.

“Rose gardens are nice,....”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

Nicely laid out park, a nice respite from Spokane proper. A main attraction are the rose gardens, so try to be there when it's in bloom!
