When Waddell's first opened it was welcome addition to the South Hill restaurant scene. The food was good, the burgers in particular were fantastic and the service was average. Over the past few months everything has taken a turn for the worst. While the quality of the food had gone down slightly and the service is horrendous. The waitstaff acts as if your mere presence in the restaurant is a major inconvenience to them and berate you if you even ask about their beer selection. In addition to the poor service there is a awful lot of precarious money transactions going on where there is no food or drink being exchanged. Anyone who has ate there within the past month knows what I mean, especially if you are there in the later evening hours.

Here is a brief synopsis of my last and FINAL visit to Waddell's:
We sat at our table for almost ten minutes without so much as a hello from anyone employed by the establishment. Once the waiter did come by he acted as if we were really putting him out by asking to see menu's. While he did manage to take our drink order he didn't do it without an attitude. When my husband asked for a type of beer that he had previously had at this establishment, the waiter rudely informed him that they didn't have that particular type and offered no similar suggestions. The waiter did manage to get the two beers to our table and disappeared never to be heard from again. We waited for over ten minutes for someone to return to our table to take our food order, when finally we gave up all hope walking out and leaving enough cash to cover the total of the two beers. Throughout the duration of our wait the waitstaff had no issue serving a table of their friends sitting near us.

I don't know who owns this restaurant or if they even have a clue what is going on in their establishment but, it is turning into a place where low-lifes congregate and not the family/neighborhood establishment that they intended it to be. I strongly encourage anyone who is considering going to Waddell's to go elsewhere. There are plenty of good, locally owned restaurants in Spokane that offer good food and good service.

We have eaten lunch at Waddell's probably 25+ times since it opened.

The food is very good and consistent. At lunch they run a single waitress, and she's probably the best we have ever seen. We never have to wait, she attentive, gets meals out fast allowing our lunch hour to be ours, meaning, we don't have to sit around and wait, we can be in and out in 20-25 minutes. Not many other places seem to be able to figure that one out.

We would definitely recommend!
