Owner description: A pleasant bike ride through downtown Spokane: this 9.2-mile trail runs past some of Spokane's historical sites, like Browne's Addition neighborhood and Riverfront Park.

A number of years ago the downtown area was on the bridge of losing its historic character. Fortunately, many of the landmark buildings have been preserved, the Davenport Hotel being one of the most magnificent.

I liked that on Sat evening there were a crowd of people out and about. During the week there are great places for lunch and good shopping.

Lots to do whether its shopping, dining or a movie you will find it downtown. Lots of shopping and dining with close parking. This downtown area has been renovated and made shopper friendly. Try it you'll see for yourself.

I am very aware of the troubles in the world today! I just don't enjoy being approached quite so often for money. There are many charities that are doing a wonderful job for the less fortunate. What surprises me is that 90% of the people that approached me for money were smoking!

It's a little big city. It has everything one may need, it's not little any more, but it's pace and dignity suggest otherwise. No fuss. No hurrying to get past traffic jams. No traffic jams.
It can remind you about many other places, where you've already been, pocessing it's individual charm nevertheless. Modest. And not vulgar.
Some examples of prominent architectural achievements, like court-house, for instance, which is claimed to belong to french renaissance style, look a bit more like modern, "disneyish" adaptation of Neuschwannstein.
