Every time I travel to Seattle I make sure I go to the Dining Room at the Salish Lodge for brunch. The view is spectacular, the food is luxurious, the tables are private, and the entire experience is just fun. I can't wait to go back there in a few months. It's one of my favorite places (unfortunately 3,000 miles from my home). Be sure to try the hot chocolate; it's a production unto itself.

Great service and a view to die for. The menu wasn't extremely exciting but all else made up for it.

Food was wonderful, top ntch. Service outstanding with a waiter, busperson and sommelier all taking time at our table to provide us with a great deal of attention.

Had Valentine's Day lunch at this classic, up-scale country retreat in NW Washington about an hour from Seattle. As my wife said, "Five thumbs up!" Excellent ambiance, very good food and excellent service. SPARKLING tableware. Lunch was preceded by a house special called a "Poinsettia." Champagne, lime, Cointreau, pomegranate juice. Excellent drink. A very minor point was that the bread served - slices of a warm honey-flavored baguette - seemed to have been warmed in a microwave. The dessert was a fabulous dish of baked thin apple slices and cherries that had been marinated in some type of a cherry liqueur.

It has been several years since I last dined at the Salish Lodge. The evening did not disappoint. We were seated at a window table and with a few minutes of daylight remaining had a view of the falls.

Service was excellent and unobtrusive. Never rushed.

The food was very good. Started with lobster bisque. Very delicious. Presented with the lobster and vegetables in the bowl, the server poured the bisque over it. Only knock was the potatoes were cold. My companion had seared scallops as her entree and she declared her dish one of the best she had ever tasted. My salmon was tasty, albeit over cooked. We passed on dessert, although the menu looked promising. We had dessert plans at home.

Wine list is extensive, and expensive.

Overall, the quality of the food, ambience, and service were very good. All of this comes at a steep price. Very expensive, with entrees in the mid to upper $30+.

This is a destination dining room, and worth the trip. We will be coming back sooner than later.

Note: valet parking is available and a small charge.
