“Sequim-On the Beach”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2010

Sequim is a charming town on the Olympic Peninsula. It gets lots of sun--unusual for Washington. We stayed on the beach at 223 Three Crabs Road. A beautiful 4 bedroom home owned by Martha Vaughn. While we enjoyed our stay in her lovely home, we had to go out for ice since the ice maker was broken. Remotes and other electronics were either dated or otherwise not working. It was too expensive a place to have so many little things on the fritz. The owner was unhelpful. Get Martha to fix things before you go and before you pay and you will have a wonderful time in sunny Sequim.

“Wonderful Washington Vacation Spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2009

Sequim is a small, rural community that sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic Peninsula. We traveled there in mid-September and stayed four days. We liked the fact that we could spend one day on the rocky beaches of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and then the next day enjoy themountians in Olympic National Park! Hurricane Ridge is awesome! Wished we had more time to hike the many, many trails that are available to the residents there. We stayed at the Beach Garden Cottage and found it to be a relaxing and comfortable experience and would highly recommend it to singles or couples visiting the area.

“A trip for any age”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2004

Sequim, WA on the Olympic Penninsula is a great vacation destination.
My family and I highly recommend it for your home base to explore the Olympic Peninsula and suggest taking days trips. A few of our favorites were hiking the Sol Duc area and Hall of Mosses; exploring the Dungeness Spit, lighhouses, Port Townsend Victorian City, Whale Watching, Hurricane Ridge, Indian Culture, and day trip to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Hotels, Vacation Rentals or B&B's available.

“Sequim/Port Angeles (Clallam Cty)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2002

Sequim is touted as the retirement meca of the Pacific North West, it does have its good points...and bad.

I suggest if you are planning a move, really check it out throughly. A good place to stay is the Ramada, second floor facing the back to the hills. Very restful.

The rent-a-car out of the airport at Port Angeles is a rip off in the first degree. They have no competition and charge $58.00 for a compact. To add insult to injury, they tack on a "cleaning fee" of $3.00 and if you are low on gas by a drop, look out, they'll tack on more. Try taking the bus, it's cheap, clean and has an extensive route.

The local real estate agents and mortgage brokers need a lesson in how to treat customers. Don't take it, find a new one and maybe they'll get the message.

People on the street seemed friendly and helpful, but beware, you are a tourist. If you lived there, would they resent you? Small towns that are rapidly growing seem to resent new people moving into their little piece of country...even though it's an improvement.

Many people enjoy the peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and lower cost of living. It may be just the place for you...or maybe not.
