This is a place I've returned to again and again, often on Valentine's weekend -- it's really one of my favorite getaways in Washington state. While there are different houses and cottages to choose from, each with its own decor and view of Sequim Bay, we always pick the Boathouse...a spacious 1930s waterfront boathouse converted into a two-bedroom-plus-giant-living-room-and-kitchen cottage.
It's decorated with funky antiques, and wide windows show water, water, water, everywhere....including underneath your feet at high tide, since the Boathouse is built on pilings in the bay itself. It can sleep a big family or group of friends, since there are bunkbeds in one bedroom room, a big bed in the other bedroom, and lots of couches. The woodburning stove is very cozy with a glass of champagne, and so is the deck. THEY TAKE DOGS in the Boathouse and the other cottage on the beach! It's very private, and very beautiful. If you like something fancier, pick one of the other homes up the hill in the same complex. The owners are very cool and appreciate the business. There's a great lavender festival nearby once a year, too. GO!
