Nice improvements since last visit

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 19, 2017
There were three of us, my wife and I in one room (king) and her sister in another (queen.) Both rooms were tidy and ready for our early arrival. The usual expected (but not always delivered) equipment was present and modern, from the flat screen TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee maker, and strong wi-fi, etc. Especially noteworthy was the new electronically controlled heating and air conditioning unit, high-wall mounted over the vanity and very quiet. All three of us had restful sleep and felt good heading into the morning. Not yet on offer is breakfast, but the room is prepared next to the lobby, cozy looking for the near future, a nice amenity to an already comfortable lodging. Hostess Karrie was professional and friendly, appreciated on both counts. The Sequim West Inn will see us again.
Date of stay: April 2017
Room Tip: First floor is walk-in accessibly; second floor is maybe a bit quieter.

Service was good room was clean, small, very quiet. The bed was comfortable, I like motels that you can park outside your room. It is located close to all the shopping and there are lots of restaurants close by. They say that there will be a breakfast available starting around May or June.

TV didn't work despite running through the list of corrective actions to take several times. The wifi is spotty, at best. The bed was uncomfortable...betting the mattress is original issue along with everything else (like the '80s clock radio/phone combo). In its favor, the shower was good. My wife says we'd stay here again, but I couldn't recommend it.

We spent one night and had no problems at all. The room was clean, towels fresh and fluffy, comfortable bed and it was totally quiet. The front desk persons were helpful and loaned us a bottle opener when we needed. The RV park just to the west was clean and quiet. Parking was not a problem at all. They do not serve breakfast but otherwise it was fine.

Room tip: Upper floor room was quiet

Lovely motel with nicely decorated room. Had a table and chairs which was handy for breakfast. They provide thick fluffy towels. The staff are friendly and helpful and suggested going to the Dungeness spit on the outskirts of town. They were also helpful with dinner suggestions.

There isn't a pool and they don't do breakfast but this is reflected in the price and we find it no problem to have our cereal in the room.

Room tip: Go for motel and not cottages

We made the mistake to book this motel as it was close to Olympic National Park. We had a suite with 2 rooms with queen beds. The furniture was from the 70s and when I accidentally dropped a coin and had to pick it up next to the bed I noticed how extremely dirty the bed stands were. The a/c in our room didn't work so we had to leave the windows open during the night. The price for the room we had booked was very high.

If this hotel was not so close to Olympic National Park, it would only deserve a one star rating. Our learning was to either stay in the park (need to book several months in advance, especially for summer stays), or drive to the nearest town (e.g., Olympia, WA) which has properly priced hotel options. We could have booked a beautiful hotel in Olympia for only $30 more which would habe been very much worth it.
