We stayed in one of the cottages by the main road (as shown above) for 2 nights in early August. If you are looking for a quiet secluded retreat this is it. The weather can be highly variable, so be prepared for anything. Also if you are over 6'3 you may have troubles (low ceilings). It is a real challenge to find any lodging closer to the water.

Room Tip: Plan early if you want a weekend. They are booked months in advance.

A group of quaint cottages situated on a quiet road outside of Sequim right across the road from the Juan de Fuca Straits. Beautiful sunset views. Lovely walks on the road. Full kitchen facilities, lovely little front porches. Friendly informative host even lent me his spotting scope when he learned I was a birder.

Easy driving distance to Sequim and other local spots. Loved it!

We visited the Cottages right after the Olympic Game Park. Rooms are great, right on the ocean (50m on a cliff above ocean), have kitchens in them (with an Organic market shop close by), and they have a great game room in the middle of the garden which is great for kids (they have all box games, Foosball table, etc).
The owners are very nice, and can provide information if needed.
Highly recommneded

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty much the same

We had a groupon for this cottage and we chose the K&K property because it was dog friendly. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return. My wife said it better than I could have so below are her thoughts.

Cottage:
The cottage was lovely - a small standalone studio with high ceilings and lots of windows, a Queen sized bed, (tiny) TV, bathroom, a sauna AND a hot tub, and a mini-kitchen (half sized-fridge, microwave and sink). We brought our dog with us and he loved it as much as we did. To the rear of the cottage is a big lawn and a llama farm! The llamas are super friendly and our dog loved sticking his nose through the gate to lick them. To the front of the cottage is a view across the Straight of Juan de Fuca. When it was clear on Saturday we could see all the way to Victoria. On Friday we snuggled in bed and watched a lightening storm move across the bay. So beautiful.

Food:
We brought dinners and lunches with us, and just reheated them in the microwave. We ordered their "Breakfast in a Basket" deal, which was awesome - the gal brought us scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurts, fruit and baked pastries at 9am both mornings and it was delicious.

Activities:
Our Groupon came with two kayak rentals. The bay is perfect for kayaking - really peaceful and there's plenty of wildlife to see as you paddle around. Also there's some great tide pooling. On Saturday we drove up to Hurricane Ridge and walked around a bit. It's only about 25-30 mins drive away and it's gorgeous - definitely worth the trip. Be warned they don't allow dogs on the trails. About 5 minutes from the cottage is a Wild Game Farm - you drive through their grounds in your car and llamas, elk, bison and deer come right up to your car and eat bread out of your hands. We loved that. Besides that, we just relaxed, sat in the hot tub, read books, went for walks (lots of lavender blooming this time of year) and drank wine.

We'll definitely be coming back. So will our dog; I think he misses the llamas. :-)

Wonderful memories were created when my husband Bill and I stayed at the Juan de Fuca Cottages this week. What a charming get-away! Immaculate rooms with all the comforts of home. Owners Tom and Missy were the perfect hosts, helping us find great restaurants (Alder Brook Bistro, Dockside Grill, the Cedars for crab cakes).

Our Groupon offer included kayaking & bikes. My husband couldn't go out in the kayak, but Missy offered to go with me. Her husband helped us get in and push off, magically appearing when we returned to help us out! They told us about some nesting eagles up the street. We were able to get some great pictures -- what a thrill.

Spectacular views from all the cottages, ours was the twin view where we could take in the water and mountain views AND have our porch facing the sunny southern exposure. We were only supposed to stay two nights, but extended it another day. I could have easily made it six! By the end of our stay it felt like Tom and Missy were old friends.

This will be the ONLY place we stay when visiting Sequim in the future! And I can hardly wait.

If you are looking for a chain motel/hotel experience, this is not the place for you. Juan de Fuca Cottage is a charming place that makes you feel that you are home away from home....excepts most homes probably don't have the million dollar views of Dugeness Bay. Better yet, the property is only a few steps away from the water!

Tom made our experience so enjoyable and memorable, especially with our Kayaking experience(s) and insights to Sequim, WA. He made sure were were safe when we went out to Kayak with winds blowing at 5-10 mphs (but it felt much worst) and made some really yummy recommendations on places to eat.

We did not have good cell-phone reception (which was a great thing) but the location provided free Wi-Fi if we needed to connect to the real world.

I appreciate and support Tom's business and am planning to make Juan de Fuca Cottages an annual place of gathering with friends and family!

As I'm writing this review, I am missing the days at Juan de Fuca Cottages, where I just transform myself into a world free of worries, the sea otters and deers were my friend :)
