“A Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Our family has many memories at Curley's. We fish in July and in September each year and enjoy the comfort of a clean room with full kitchens. Curley's offers the best night sleep after a full day of fishing and nice clean sheets and fluffy towels.

The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cooking implements that makes cooking a breeze. The place is very clean and a welcome retreat at the end of the day.

I look forward to our stay at Curley's twice a year. I wish it could be more.

Room Tip: Call in advance. This place is in demand.

The room couldn't have been smaller or more basic but was clean, plus clean bath. Owner was good enough to us. the room we had was for sleeping, not honeymooning. Is located near a nice little eatery. No gripes other than it wasn't the Waldorf-Astoria.

Jim is our go to guy at Sekiu. It is a motel and not a hotel... but nothing is Sekiu is new or up to date. Jim however has done a great job on his property and has updated the rooms enough to be a great place to sleep while on a fishing weekend. He has moorage available. We are coming back Sept. 2013 and hope for fishing like 2012.

We stayed at Curley's Resort for 5 nights. We had to make a last minute arrival date change and Jim & his wife were great to work with, We were meeting a group of friends and got to see there rooms and Cabin also. Our room was a bit small, but the others were good size. You have to remember that you are going to a fishing village that is very seasonal and accommodations will reflect that, but over all we were very happy with our stay and will go back to Curley's on our next trip to Sekiu! Curley's was a great value and much bang for your buck!!!

Room Tip: the top floor has a beautiful view of the bay!

However, I wasn't there for fishing. We were on a weekend getaway and decided to try this hotel since it was right across the street from the water. I was told we got a "winter discount" and the owner was very knowledgeable of local attractions. The Wifi went down a few times, but the owner promptly rebooted it. There's a nice little covered area out back. There was a kitchenette, fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware, etc. But what really disappointed me was the fact that there was a fill size coffee pot and some loose coffee filters in the room, but no coffee. I have never been in a hotel room that had a coffee pot but no complimentary coffee. This may have been an oversight, I don't know. I am one of those people that have to have their coffee in the morning. Luckily there was a restaurant 2 doors down that was open early in the morning so I walked over there.

Room Tip: The corner rooms on the street side of the second floor have the Best view.

Had a corner room on the top floor, for which i paid extra ($75). WiFi. My room had a little kitchenette. Basic but clean.

Friendly owner with helpful information about the region.

The room is not super gadget friendly - obviously it mostly caters to tourist fishermen ("if you use our towels to clean your fish, the replacement costs are as follows..."). It also could use a few more electrical outlets, especially close to the table. Also, an extra light at the table would have been helpful. On my 2nd night, someone moved into the neighboring room and i could hear there every word which was kind of irritating.

Very nice staff, location and rooms. We rented the large family room, with 2 twin and 1 queen. The room also had a full kitchenette. They gave us a sweet winter rate. Within walking distance of everything , store, café, dock, boat launch, and beach. we are definitely going back!!!

Room Tip: No pool need with the ocean right there.
