After a long day we wanted something to take back to the house for dinner. My husband works in a pizza restaurant so he knows his stuff and usually avoids pizza places because he is around it all day.
We stopped at Chico's because I had heard it was good. We ordered at Sore Thumb (which is like a meat lovers pizza) as well as some Cheesy Bread Sticks. We ordered it to go and were told there would be about a 15 minute wait. It was ready in 12!
If you are dining in, it's super casual. Bench seats with picnic table styled seating. There are some video games for the kids (and the husbands) and a large TV which was showing football last night (09/15/2012).
We drove back to our house (which is about a 12 mile drive) and could smell how yummy the pizza was and we were not disappointed.
The Cheesy Bread Sticks were a little disappointing, and we ordered ranch dipping sauce and received marinara, but that was OK, we liked that as well.
The pizza has a really cripsy cruse and is packed with toppings. They "old style" the pizza according to the husband and put the topping on then the cheese over the top of those - which makes for a nice change.
It was a little spendy, but nothing overly outrageous for a tourist attraction town.
Would we eat there again? Absolutely! Highly recommended!!
