We entered the most charming winter dining environment ever for us for an excellent dinner, piano with horn accompaniment, attentive service. Dining in a capacacious, stunning, elegant real 19th C room, pefect lighting. We walked in to a roaring fire in the lobby, a very very cool pub to the left, with the bar in the round, and the gorgeous retaurant to the right. Mahogany walls everywhere so the indirect lighting gave a marvelous brownish-red glow to the room. At our table for four, everyone was envious of everyone else's dinner! Top quality martinis. A club like atmosphere. Now one caveat: we tried to have dinner there two years ago. No service for 25 minutes. We had reservations for 7:30. We left. I suspect the staff wanted to go home earlier. Lesson: reserve for 6 PM. Our dinner this time was the day after Thanksgiving. We are planning for a 2014 return, probably w/o our friends who are tip-stingy for this holiday service.
