“Top notch food, relaxing atmosphere”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

We've visited the Shelburne Pub on several occasions. The food is consistently good, fresh and local ingredients, and the service is attentive. On our most recent visit i had the Mussel chowder; wonderful! I can count on the Shelburne for the kind of careful attention to detail that I crave more and more as time goes on. Looking forward to our next visit.

“Great Meal”

Super selection of appetizers, salads and entrees as well as a wonderful wine selection. You will enjoy everything on the menu. We enjoyed both breakfast, dinner and drinks in the lounge.

There is not much to dislike, they could use with a little more space in the pub area for diners. Other than that the food is out of this world! The use mostly local seafood and produce. Atmosphere is quiet and very friendly, it is not unusual for the owner to check with the diners on how they are enjoying their meal. We love this place for a romantic dinner out.

“Ambience of opulence!”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Talk about a step back into the past. The service by our waiter and the owner was outstanding. The both visited with us as we ate and were very alert to any needs always volunteering without us having to ask. Beautiful surroundings and great food make it a definite keeper!

“Top notch fresh food”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

We stayed at the Shelbourne a couple of weeks ago and had two wonderful breakfasts there along with dinner one night. The breakfasts were so good. Loved the little touch of the little bowl of cut fruit, the garnishes of fresh herbs and flowers at breakfast. Everything was local and so fresh. Hubby had his usual eggs and bacon. He was extremely pleased with it, along with the breakfast potatoes and toast. I had the stuffed french toast one day, oh my, and the chef's special omelete with asparagus and wild mushrooms. wow, It was amazing. We felt very satisfied with the portions and it held us through to the early afternoon.

For dinner we ate at the Pub. We shared a crab cocktail that was the freshest and best crab I have ever had. I had fried shrimp that had a mildly spicy chili sauce that was oh so good. Again, fresh as could be. Hubby had fish and (real) chips. The fish was done perfectly and the batter light and crisp. Those chips were what we have been trying to attain but haven't been able to yet. The waiter was interesting to visit with and had lots of fishing and hunting tales.

Everyoone should try out this great old dame of a building and it's great restaurants... at least once.
