“Clams and Oysters and Platters, Oh My”
Reviewed September 1, 2014

This little spot is a hidden gem. On the main drag next to Syd's Market in Seaview, this unassuming little historic caboose has a great selection of seafood that's sure to satisfy your greasy spoon cravings. A delightful, Christian owner has sort of resurrected this little spot from days gone by. Fried clams...got 'em, oyster sandwich...got 'em, fish and chips...got 'em and I could go on. Tight quarters with limited seating but hey, what do you expect in a caboose??? No alcohol, by choice on the part of the owner, but that's just fine...in some ways better especially on a busy weekend when some are a bit over the edge anyway.

“kites and seafood”

Cute little spot to eat. Crab cakes were great and the chowder was wonderful. Enjoyed the train traveling around the top of the building.

“Not bad, not the best”
Reviewed August 15, 2014

Frozen pre-pattied (store bought?) burgers and fries. Buns - store bought. Condiments (lettuce tomatoes and pickles were fresh). Burger was good but a bit bland. Needed some seasoning or at least a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Place is eclectic. Dollar bills on the walls, window sills and ceiling. There was a train above our heads but it wasn't running at the time. When we visited we were the only customers there the entire time.

“Another time warp”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

I loved this place - it could almost be a cousin of the Souwester lodge a few hundred meters further up the road. A period piece in the true American Diner tradition with the food cooked by the owner - He's a dry chap but great fun if you invest in getting to know him.
Don't expect McDonalds modern styling or facilities but it's far better for it if you just let yourself be taken back in time.

“Great Fish and Chips!!!”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

I've driven by this many times while staying at Long Beach...finally was craving fish and chips so I gave it a try. They had a special on 3 piece cod and chips so I gave it a try. GREAT FISH! Big portions and very tasty. The clincher was that the coleslaw was very good as well...I find coleslaw to be hit or miss and this was a hit!

I got my food to go but the atmosphere was cool if one were to stay...it's decorated with dollar bills and a big train set on the ceiling...it definitely counts as a hole in the wall, but isn't that where a lot of the best food comes from?
