Hampton Inn and Suites Seattle-Airport/28th Ave
Ranked #3 of 34 Hotels in SeaTac
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Arrived in Seattle several days before our Alaskan cruise. Researched hotels in Seattle and surrounding area. Hampton Inn at 28th Avenue had best rates. Hotel is relatively new; very clean; front desk was helpful and courteous and they had a decent breakfast. Even though you are close to SeaTac Airport, we did not hear planes taking off or landing. The hotel has a "cruise package". We booked the room with the package and on the morning of our cruise, the shuttle picked us up at the lobby of the hotel, delivered us to the port and when we returned from our cruise, the driver was waiting for us at the port to take us to the airport. Service with a smile! Will definitely book this hotel again when we return to Seattle!

We were in and out in under 12 hours , passing through on our way back to the east coast. Very clean. Quiet. Comfortable. Decent breakfast and one to go for those with early flights. Recycling program would have been nice. Second large chain we stayed at in Seattle that did not have one which was a bit shocking! Shuttle service to the airport. Book online for best pricing.

Thank you for choosing our hotel. I apologize for not having a recycle program. Although we don't have recycle bins, we do have a recycle container in the back of the hotel that we use to separate the cardboard, paper, bottle, etc. Again, thank you for your feedback.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn for three nights prior to our Alaskan cruise in August of 2013. Upon arriving at the airport, we called for the free shuttle to take us to the hotel. We did have to wait awhile, but that may have been our fault. There were at least three Hampton Inn shuttles driving around for the different Hampton Inn's around the Seatac area. Finally we found the correct one and were shuttled to the hotel within minutes.

Check in was a breeze...of course it was around 12:30 am, so I did not expect it to be busy. We had three adults in our room and it was spacious enough to accommodate everyone. The beds and bedding were nice, the room seemed recently updated, the bathroom was large and well appointed and the TV was very nice.

One of the best things about this hotel was the complimentary hot breakfast. There were many choices that changed daily. We all really enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee.

The other great thing about this hotel was that the shuttle takes you to the light rail station so you can get downtown. This was a great feature that we used both days. When you get back to the light rail, you just call the hotel and they send the shuttle right over to pick you up.

This hotel was a great choice for us as we would have spent about 3 times as much to stay downtown. Also, they had a shuttle to the cruise pier for $12 per person. Excellent stay in a lovely hotel!!

Thank you for choosing SeaTac versus Seattle Downtown. We are indeed less expensive than downtown Seattle. Like you mentioned, we do have the Lightrail that takes you into Seattle. Thank you again for choosing our hotel.

Let me start by saying this hotel is great and the service was excellent. The room was very clean (we had the king room) and spacious. The bathroom was also spacious and the countertop was large enough for all of my stuff and my husband's as well. The shower was also nice and roomy as it wasn't one of those tub/shower combinations. The continental breakfast had a number of good options (we're lactovegetarians, so I can't speak to the meat and egg items). Being so close to the airport, I was expecting to be woken up by aircraft flying over all night, but I didn't hear a peep. The workout room is great and the elliptical machines are a dream. All in all, the hotel was great.
The one downside was the distance from downtown. It's a 40-minute light rail ride from downtown, and it takes about 5 minutes via the free hotel shuttle to reach the light rail station (or about 20 minutes to walk there). That's a lot farther than I would have liked to stay, but as we were part of a group of 8, we went with what the majority decided. However, I will say it's nice to get up on the morning of your return flight and the airport is a 10-min shuttle ride away.
If you are planning to do lots of stuff downtown and you don't mind the "hike" to get into the city, this hotel is perfect.

It sounds like you stayed in our standard King. Those have the shower stalls instead of tubs. Our suites and two queen have the bathtubs. I'm sorry to hear that you felt far away from downtown Seattle. It is exactly what you said, about 35-40 minutes on the Lightrail. Most people choose to stay hear in SeaTac for the rates versus downtown. Thank you for all your great comments.

I stayed at this hotel in August 2013. It is a new hotel and is very close to the airport, however, I was surprised at how little air traffic noise I heard. The hotel has a free shuttle to/from the airport and will also take you to a number of the local places to shop and eat.

This hotel is great for a pre/post cruise place to stay as they have an arrangement with a shuttle service that will take you to the cruise terminal and then back to either the hotel or airport after the cruise. I think the round trip charge was $25.

The free shuttle will also take you to the light rail terminal (only a few blocks away) which runs to downtown Seattle and terminates near the downtown wharf and monorail to the space needle. The RT price on the light rail is around $5.00 and is an easy and appears to be safe way to get to/from downtown. Trip time is about 35 minutes.

Hotel includes a free hot breakfast.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Seattle.

Room Tip: Go for an upgrade to a suite for extra room. The hotel is practically brand new so I'm sure all...

Many people agree with you about the noise. There isn't very much. Some people do hear it but it rare that we get a complaint. The cruise transfers are $24 roundtrip. It sounds like you were able to use that service. Thank you for your posting.

Back to Seattle after 2 weeks in Alaska felt this was the best place to stay before an early flight home the next day. What a treat to be in a clean, nearly new room with comfortable beds, cool air conditioning & hot showers! Employees are efficient, polite and friendly. Hotel was very busy so guess lots of people have discovered how wonderful it is! Definitely our "go to" hotel in Sea Tac!

I was attending a convention in a nearby hotel. Based on reviews here & a better rate than the convention hotel I decided to stay here. Right choice! After a long series of flights the shuttle & check in were quick. The room was fairly large and spotlessly clean. It had everything I could ask for- comfortable bed, large bathroom & shower and a big TV! I found the breakfast to be up to the job and the business centre was ok too although sometimes the download speeds varied. The shuttle will drop you to the light rail station but as the weather was warm and sunny I walked it in about 20mins. The airport is within walking distance too.
The light rail into downtown Seattle took about 35 mins. The hotel's location is not picture perfect but I didn't enter the U.S on a tourist visa so its didn't bother me. I can easily see why this hotel gets excellent reviews.
