“Good Location, Quiet Hotel”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Staying one night in Seattle, this was a perfect location for access to the airport, with it being in walking distance. However, as it is also near the train into downtown Seattle, the location was even better.
Service was good, rooms spacious, and the hotel was nicely quiet. A decent bar is on the ground floor too.

Had a one night stay after arriving late in the evening from the east coast to Seattle pre-cruise. Needless to say, I was exhausted and luckily had a reservation at Doubletree Hilton nearby. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had to pay an extra $20 to stay in "the tower" even though I had a paid reservation. I couldn't walk another step and the complex is sprawling with buildings. I'm sure they would have provided a shuttle if I'd asked, but my SO and I were miserable after the long flight and just wanted to get to our room. So I paid the extra $$ and we went to the 10th floor. The room in the tower was extremely spacious, clean with two queen beds which were extremely comfortable. A large flatscreen worked perfectly. There was a wet bar outside the bathroom with a small drip coffee/tea pot with appropriate supplies. The bathroom had a standard tub with cloth shower curtain but was clean and had great water pressure and good temperature adjustment. The lobby was spacious and warm chocolate chip cookies were provided - delicious! A gift shop open til late and food/restaurant on premises, although we did not partake. We walked across the street to Denny's for breakfast, which I must say, was the best meal in a Denny's I'd ever had! The hotel provided a free shuttle to and from the airport which was also a plus. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a short stay near the SeaTac Airport.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the tower (the main building where one checks in) if you don't want to go on a tr...

I had mixed feelings writing this. I'm usually impressed with Double Trees but this particular hotel stay was average. Don't get me wrong, the location is great, near the SeaTac airport and I never heard an airplane but the room I stayed was average and needed some TLC. It was a spacious room but the wall paper was peeling, the room had a musty smell and the pillows smelled like they've been there for 5 years. That said, the bar/lounge was impressive beautiful wings and interior hallways. The bartenders were very helpful, loved the Alaskan Halibut dinner! My highlight for the overnight stay. If you are looking for a hotel near the airport, this is one I would recommend, as long as the pillows are changed.

The uppper lobby and surronding buildings are out of date and in my opinioin need to be demolished. I was upgraded to the tall building in the rear. Very nice rooms and up to date. I had dinner and drinks. The bar had good food and is layed out nicely. Did not like the parking charge, but that is no different than most hotels better than a Hampton

I stayed here two nights with two friends and my toddler son. We just needed a place near the airport with a free shuttle. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The hotel itself seems older (although newly renovated) and is very large. My only complaint is the breakfast buffet appeared to be fairly inexpensive for a hotel (and kids eat free) but they really get you by charging $3.95 for below average coffee and $4.50 for a glass of orange juice. They didn't say the prices when they started pouring so just something to be aware of.

The atmosphere was very calming, the facilities were very clean and the staff was ALL extremely friendly and helpful. We are not from the state of WA so it was very weird that we were not permitted by law to take our child into the bar where the food was served. We had to sit on the complete opposite side of the restaurant separated by a barrier in order to eat there, and so we didn't get to participate with colleagues. This was the case in every restaurant/bar in the state. Not a hotel issue, but important for everyone travelling to know about. The restaurant staff was more than accommodating and the food was really tasty. The front desk staff was super helpful. The shuttle driver actually took us and dropped us off for dinner so that we did not have to walk down a busy street with our infant.

Thank you for your nice review and comments about our friendly and helpful staff. Our shuttle team is also wonderful and thanks so much for saying so! It is unfortunate that you were not aware of Washington State law regarding allowing minors into the bar where the food was being served. I am so glad to hear that regardless of Washington State law, our accommodating restaurant staff took care of your dining needs. Hope you can stay with us again real soon!

We liked the spacious room. This hotel was selected because they hosted a conference I was attending. The hotel is older but has been renovated and is well kept. It is close to the airport for easy transport for flights, however is further from the sightseeing opportunities in Seattle. Albeit not a difficult drive.
