“Cute Park in vicinty of Rockport”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We found this park by accident looking for picnic tables. It is right on the Skagit River and is well maintained. There are several picnic tables with BBQ's in a grassy area. There are also bathrooms. There is an old log cabin and a dug out canoe with interpretations.
Adjacent to the park is a RV site, camping and a boat launch. Just a lovely place!

“Unexpected Gem”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

We went here with no real expectations and left with a clear desire to return. This wonderful park in situated along the Skagit river with about 40 RV/tent sites and 10 Tent only sites, all spacious. 2 small cabins are also available to rent. There is a boat launch in the park as well. Easy access to the river from multiple locations is a real bonus. We found the park very clean with the restrooms and showers maintained daily. There are also nice walking trails at one end with multiple paths all connected. They are also very lax about allowing your well mannered dog off leash on the trail which we really enjoyed. While we were there a crew from Parks and Rec were mowing, blowing and cleaning every site. We also encountered a crew from the Washington State Conservation Corps who were cleaning up blackberry bushes and working on replanting some native trees and shrubs. There is a real focus on keeping this park as natural as possible which means no chemicals are used to control vegetation, just old fashioned manual labor. You've got to respect that. We are so impressed the all the quite, natural splendor this park offers that we plan to return soon.

“Great camp site for RV's or Tents right on the River”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

The park is very well maintained with clean flushing bathrooms stocked with soap. Tent sites are walk-in to a nice grassy area by the river.

Prices are great, $16 for a camp site.

As far as day camping. When you pull in they have an area with bbqs and bathrooms. You can't see the river because of foliage but, it's an easy place to go with a family or group.

“A Most Gorgeous Campground And RV Park”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

If you're going to be in the area put this address into your GPS. We almost missed it, the signs aren't too noticeable when you're driving by. The tent sites alongside the river are big and grassy, the RV sites have huge parking spaces, some paved some gravel, and there are acres of grass all around. Each site is quite separate from the others. There's a wonderful playground for kids. The washroom facilities are clean and there's a constant staff of young people from the Parks and Rec working around the grounds. It's a very lovely and commendable place.

“Good for RVs”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

This is actually one of the nicest County Parks I've ever seen. Very well maintained and clean.
Nice large grassy areas break the park up into sections as it runs east-west along the riverfront. There are 2 playground areas for the restless urchins. Day use area with the normal historical and interpretive stuff, picnic facilities, boat launch, and access for fishing.

There is something like 50 RV spaces, 10 tent sites, and 2 cabins. So obviously it is designed for/around RV use, but still is useful for tent campers. During the summer it is REALLY busy so reserve well in advance. Cost for spaces is reasonable ... see the website linked at the top of this page for more/better pics and information than I can give!

The cabins and west playground are both rather recent additions and in great condition. Food and cold "refreshments" are available just up the hill beyond the park border.
