“Nice Hotel But Hard Beds”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

Very nice and clean hotel. The room was large and quiet. The television was hi def with many channels available. Internet service was flawless. The breakfast was above average with many different hot selections. My wife and I were bothered by the firmness of the bed. We were up every hour turning to fight numbness and soreness. We have stayed at many Hilton and other hotel chains but never experienced such discomfort. The facility and staff were nice but the hard bed issue was significant enough to lower our overall opinion of this property and won't likely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the river side with an exceptional view of the Columbia River and walk path. Ask if the...

This was a return stay for us so there were no surprises. The check in and check out went smoothly even though we showed up before noon. We did not use the exercise facilities or other hotel amenities but they were available. The breakfast was good and plentiful as usual. We will return here again whenever we visit the tri-cities.

Room Tip: The river view rooms are nice (for an additional fee) but not necessary if you simply want a good ni...

This is a very nice property next to a nice park along a very nice river and close to freeway access as well. The facilities are very nice and the breakfast is also good. We enjoyed it a lot and will choose to stay here again when the opportunity presents itself.

The rooms are very good but the beds were a bit hard.

Room Tip: Ask for a feather pillow :-)

This was a return stay at a very nice place. Just the location on the banks of the Columbia river, by the Richland park, is perfect for a restful night and a great place to have breakfast in the morning.

We recently stayed here while attending a family wedding. I was pleasantly suprised by how nice this hotel was.

Let's start with the location: right on the river and right beside Howard Amon Park. We spent much of our time socializing with extended family on the gorgeous back patio - got cool breezes off the river and the kids could run over to the playground without any effort at all. In the mornings we'd get up and either hit the running trail right out front for jogs along the riverbank, or stay in the A/C and work out in the gym (small but decently outfitted with two ellipticals, two treadmills, a stationary bike, and free weights).

The indoor pool was nicer than most - with a whole wall of glass windows that lined another small, narrow outdoor patio. Not a big pool, but a nice indoor pool deck with lounges and tables (if you could stand the heat).

Rooms were clean and bright - although the bed linens seemed a bit small (felt like I was playing tug-of-war with my husband over the comforter all night). The included morning breakfast offered decent choices - both hot and cold. Coffee was good, but if you wanted better there was a coffee shop right across the parking lot. At night the staff put out warm cookies in the lobby - which was quite a hit with the kids!

We were looking for an inexpensive, but clean and comfortable place to stay in the Richland area while sampling the areas many wineries and golf courses. This property sits right on the west bank of Columbia River and offers quick access to everything. The 7 mile Riverfront Trail, which is a beautiful stroll, goes right by the hotel's outside patio. We had a double queen room overlooking the parking lot for 4 nights. Bedding was surprisingly comfortable. Nice flat screen TV. Small refrigerator. Air conditioner worked well. Breakfast was about what we expected—the normal assortment of danish, cereals, scrambled eggs that tasted like rubber (the omelets were better), do it yourself Belgium waffles, bacon, canned fruit, etc. Eating this kind of food is okay for a day or two, but we were soon wondering if we could find a better breakfast nearby. In the end, we ate at the hotel to save time and a bit of money. Staff were professional and polite.

One wonders though what this property could have been. The siting is pretty neat right there on the river, but the hotel itself is a huge, ugly monstrosity of an eyesore. This could've been a special property. As it is, it's like a lot of other hotels in this category, a nice base camp for sleeping while exploring the area.

I have stayed at this Hampton Inn many times, for five days at a time, while on business in Richland. It is always comfortable, clean, and quiet. It is convenient to all of Richland, with easy freeway access to Kennewick and Pasco.

The rooms are always comfortable, clean, and quiet. Request a room overlooking the Colombia River. It is so pretty. The beds are great. The room includes a small refrigerator which is nice to have, keeping a few snacks or drinks handy.

The staff is friendly and helpful, with some even remembering me from previous trips, and calling me by name.
