Love love love this place. Spent a lot of time jogging along the East side of the Lake - upon reaching the end and turning around you are rewarded with a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier. Lovely grounds, been to quite a few group picnics, volleyball games, decent tennis courts and really fun playground for little ones. Also did the Polar Bear Dip on Jan. 1st. Cool statues which are often unofficially costumed to match the season. Fun people watching, there's an Ivar's and burger joint by the boat dock and some vendors on the beach.
Negatives: parking is nearly impossible on sunny days and weekends - be prepared to walk. And goose poop can be dreadful at times - watch your step on the grass!
