“Great park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Love love love this place. Spent a lot of time jogging along the East side of the Lake - upon reaching the end and turning around you are rewarded with a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier. Lovely grounds, been to quite a few group picnics, volleyball games, decent tennis courts and really fun playground for little ones. Also did the Polar Bear Dip on Jan. 1st. Cool statues which are often unofficially costumed to match the season. Fun people watching, there's an Ivar's and burger joint by the boat dock and some vendors on the beach.
Negatives: parking is nearly impossible on sunny days and weekends - be prepared to walk. And goose poop can be dreadful at times - watch your step on the grass!

“Very Nice Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

This park has a little bit of everything - play area for kids, lake access for swimming and boating, two fast-food restaurants and a long walking path surrounded by water and vegetation. It's a very nice park. The only caution is that pets are not allowed at this park.

“Nice spot to spend an hour or so.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

This is a beautiful place to spend an hour or so. Sit down and enjoy excellent views of the lake, watch the boats launch, eat at the fast food place and take a walk on the boardwalk. Avoid the beach area on a weekend.

“Gene Coulon Park is a great place to take kids or just go for a walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

In the summer there is a swimming area, that has a lifeguard during certain times. Kids love the beach area, which is sandy and they can dig and play in the sand. The swim area has a nice shallow start for kids to play in, they is also a deep part. There is a nice grass area to set up your blankets. There is also a huge play area for kids, with lots to climb, slide, swing, etc. If you go on a cloudy day or during the other seasons, be sure to bring a jacket. It gets a little cool next to the water. If you don't have kids, there is a great walking trail to take a stroll by the lake. The Ivars and Kid Valley restaurant's are also there to get a bite if your hungry.
