I go to Redmond every other month and do business at Microsoft. I previously stayed at the Embassy Suites in Bellevue which was also nice. However, the location is not that ideal. This location is fabulous, right in Redmond Town Center. Good food and shopping is right outside the door as the Town Center is sort of an outdoor mall.
The room is large, kitchen etc. You will have a welcome basket in the room with Microwave popcorn, coffee, and tea. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The logistics of the room are a bit odd as you cannot lay in bed and watch TV.
Complementary breakfast each morning in the dining room. The breakfast is ok. You have choices of slow cooked oatmeal, pastries, scambled eggs ( a bit watery) sausages, cook your own waffles, fruit, cold cereals, variety of juices etc. The staff member in the dining room went out of her way to bring me hot oatmeal after breakfast hours were over. I often had breakfast while waiting for a cab and the front desk staff will come in the dining room and tell you the cab is here.
The housekeeping staff is fabulous. Each day they would knock on the door and bring me fruit or leave it in the room after they cleaned. I told them I liked the cookies offered in the lobby each evening and they would then bring me cookies each day also. Much of the front desk staff do double duty and drive the shuttle, run the Manager's reception etc. They are very friendly and helpful.
I requested a room change for an even numbered room as the odd numbered rooms seemed geered for left handed people and they happily accomodated my odd request!
Next door is the more upscale Marriott, also nice. And the Residence Inn has room service provided by the Marriott. However at the Residence Inn you get a larger room, free breakfast, free parking and free high speed internet. You pay for all this at the Marriott. But it was nice to walk over to the Marriott and sit and have breakfast there for a change.
Also if you eat in the Town Center stop by Ruby's Diner, Claim Jumpers or this Italian place I cannot think of the name on the second floor.
I could stay at the Marriott as the company will pay for both but prefer the Residence Inn.
