We arrived late in the evening, greeted with smiling faces. Check in was quick and easy. While entering room, we realized we had made a wonderful choice for a weekend getaway. We were in a large room, with king bed, fireplace and a balcony. Excellent view of lake. We enjoyed our stay and are planning on going back in the near future.

A few years back we came to this lodge just to have breakfast, as we had read in tourist guides that it is an outstanding experience. Well it was then, and it is still now. All of us 4 choose something different, and it was all perfect ... and then we took the sweet potato pancakes with hazelnut butter as "dessert" .... delicious .... Although my wife was given the recipe, we will come back ! This time we also stayed overnight. It is a wonderfull place full of history, where you unwind completely. The common area's, certainly the main lobby with the huge fireplace, are so classy and cozy. The rooms (in the main building) are a little old, very small, but functional enough, certainly if you only stay one night. The view to the lake, and the surroundings, so amazing, so easy to loose all your stress in this place. The pool is good, just big enough, and they have a good sauna as well. Only problem is that for the kids more then half of the toys and games in the game room were "out of order" ... Next time I stay a week or so, and do all the walking trails. Can not wait to go back ... preferably in winter again.

Room Tip: If you are just 2 of you, the rooms in the main building are good and big enough, but if you are wit...

I first began visiting Lake Quinault in the early '70's. I have been there alone, with my spouse, with my family, for a family reunion, and too many times to count. My grandchildren love it as much as I do. The ambiance is always peaceful and yet active. It is the type of atmosphere you can truly feel comfortable in when alone or with a group of people. My husband took part in a photography class on one of our visits. That is just one of the many activities offered at some time during the calendar year. The staff are always polite, friendly, and responsive to requests. The lake is beautiful and the surrounding forest is worth exploring. As a "senior" I appreciate that the lodge is truly multigenerational and appeals to people of all ages.

Lake Quinault Lodge offers the best Pacific Northwest experience of any lodge/hotel in the region. My husband and I annually visit the lodge in the winter - coming in stressed from our lives in the city and leaving renewed and returned to love.

The hikes are stupendous. Terrain can work for any level of experience, for instance I was 8.5 months pregnant at our last visit and still managed to waddle my way down the lakeside hike to the Interpretive Loop. The pool and game room are a pleasant surprise. My husband hunkers down in the sauna while I float around the pool, which is always warm and impeccably clean.

My suggestion is to wake up early, make a pot of coffee and cuddle up on the porch with a book. The serenity is intoxicating and I haven't been able to duplicate it anywhere else. Then head over to breakfast and order the sweet potato pancakes. Amazing!

No trip woudl be complete without happy hour in the lodge. There are few places where you can grab a beer, glass of wine or cocktail, then sit in a super comfy chair and play cribbage, read a book or just chat.

You would have to try really hard to not relax at Lake Quinault Lodge. Enjoy!

Room Tip: If you can, splurge for the fireplace rooms. They are definitely worth it.

Quinault Lodge offered us wonderful respite, tranquility, and beauty, perfect to calm the mind, pamper the body, and feed the soul. The quiet of mid winter with morning mists over the lake and the gentle drip of signature rain set the stage for our stay. It was a lovely way to wind down in a beautiful place either with a book by the grand fireplace or out the door for a quiet walk through the majestic rain forest. Finally to close the day nestled into the luxury of warm sheets and comfort was pure heaven.

We went in the middle of winter. The lake was fogged in sometimes (looked like it had been photoshopped out) and brilliantly clear at other times. The lodge is clean and well-maintained, and the rooms were comfortabe (and warm!). The food was excellent. Try the French toast--it is unique and delicious.

We enjoy the lodge as a short winter getaway from telephones, television and the tasks of regular daily life. This time we stayed in a fireplace room, with a view of the sloping green lawn down to the lake. Of course the comfort of the bed, the cozy fireplace and wing tip chairs for reading or gazing out, and the availability of morning coffee added to our pleasure but the bigger draw for us is the huge main room in the lodge. The comfortable leather furniture, good lighting and constantly maintained fire invite reading, playing games and unhurried conversation over a cup of tea or glass of wine. We always note that the property offers something for people and families of every age group but we use it in our own way as a perfectly relaxing winter getaway.

Room Tip: The lodge rooms are small and quaint for couples who plan to be out and about most of the time. We e...
