“Lovely and Relaxing”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Beautiful place, lovely location - even in the rain. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only problem we had was no WI-fi in our non-renovated (but quite comfortable) room in the Lakeside building. Supposed to be there, per the staff, but in three days they were unable to fix it. Wi-fi in the main lodge and in other buildings in the complex but not ours. We were there on a Groupon coupon, so the price was certainly right. One note: Weekdays - at least during off-season times - are relaxing and not crowded. Weekends are extremely crowded and busy. There's not much else up in that area, so it seems to be a magnet for everyone in the area! Second note: Take earplugs. The walls and floors are really thin! Which reminds me, it would be a good idea to ask for a top floor room with nobody tramping around above you!
The Roosevelt Dining Room in the lodge has taken some hits from other reviewers. We found it to be fine and reasonably priced - especially considering the remote location and captive audience. No complaints here. (But the nearby Salmon House was better!)

We had a great stay here with the kids. We arrived in Late October just as the first rain for a couple of weeks arrived. The main room with the Grand Fireplace is very impressive with an overall feel of a large turn of the century Hunting lodge for the Victorian Elite. There are numerous inviting leather couches where guests were relaxing with a drink and a book. The history surrounding the lodge is portrayed through the photos and letters on the wall with the presidential Dining Room leading off. We stayed in one of teh Motel type room offset from the lodge overlooking the lake which was well appointed. If you do not want to dine in style the gas station and Diner over the road provides excellent service with home made Pizzas, Chilli and bugers. The Breakfast menu is superb. We took the Lodges own bus tour whcch with a 12 seater bus still felt personable with an excellent guide who showed us all the places of interest. I would stay again in a heartbeat. If you are travelling during the winter do check the roads as they may be blocked by snow or mud slides.

Room Tip: They are all good

My wife and I just spent three days and two nights at the lodge.

Very beautiful environment, peaceful and quiet surroundings enhanced by the lake waters, numerous streams and rivers, lush green forrests with well kept walking/hiking trails. Dining experience even Roosevelt would have enjoyed.

If you want to get away from the city noises, polluted air and a fast paced lifestyle, this is definately the place to go to relax and take in the visual therapy that nature offers.

Cool nights with the rain gently tapping on the roofs, windows open for the fresh air and the only sound is that of the gentle rain tapping away. No other sound. Breathe the freshest most clear air in the country and enjoy!

A peaceful, relaxing and mind cleansing getaway, for certain.

Great therapy for all!

David

Room Tip: Probably all rooms are great! A very peaceful place to stay, no matter what room is chosen.

The old hotel is a blast from the past. If you need modern ammenities this is not the place for you. It was very clean, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Loved the big fireplace in the lobby. People staying at the hoel gathered around the fireplace in the evening to sip wine and chat. We did upgrade our room and we are glad we did, The very old origingal rooms are quaint but very small. We appreciated our room with a view of the lake and a fireplace. The only problem was that the walls were very very thin! We heard more than we wanted to from our neighbors on both sides! Great place to stay when hiking and enjoying the rainforest.

Room Tip: YOu should plan to enjoy breakfast or lunch across the street at the Mercantile. Very friendly staf...

My mom and I spent one night at the lodge last month. What a beautiful building, both on the inside and out. Trails are nearby, and there are activities on the lake in the summer months. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

My family and I enjoyed a one-night stay at Lake Quinault Lodge. The Lodge section of the property is cozy and inviting from the moment you walk in. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The lobby area has a warm, cozy, inviting seating area that boasts a huge fireplace. The lodge has a quaint, vintage feel to it and the views outside towards the lake are breathtaking.
My sons each had their own room in the lodge. The rooms are on the smallish size but are comfortable and the decor lends a vintage look. One of the rooms had a claw-foot bathtub. The rooms do not have tvs. There is free wi-fi.
My daughter and I stayed in the newer "boathouse" rooms which are about a 1/2 block away from the main lodge. Our room had a lake view and the room was clean and cozy. There are rooms with fireplaces available in the lodge.
There is a restaurant in the lodge with a variety of tasty option. We did not have dinner at the Lodge We opted for the Salmon House which is about 1/2 mile away) and the dinner was excellent with many choices reasonably priced. Waitstaff were very friendly
We did have breakfast at the lodge and the menu offered a good amount of options reasonably priced. All of the staff were friendly and courteous.
There are a variety of hikes available from very easy to moderate.
There is a gaming room with a ping-pong table, family games and a sauna and heated pool.
We would stay there again and I highly recommend the lodge.

If you want to combine hiking, forest experience, access to wilderness without sacrificing modern amenities this is a must base point hotel. The perfect place to introduce an amenity-loving partner to the outdoor experience. Wonderful guided walks, excellent maintenance on hiking trails by forest service, Excellent, zero-minus-gravel trails (no mud),both long and short, (up to sufficient length to satisfy the hard-core), that take you to ancient & enormous cedars and Doug firs, or waterfalls and creeks. Excellent points of interest on even the short trails. Rooms vary from 1930's "great-lodge" experience to near-luxury in Fire-Side rooms. Restaurant is excellent (not gourmet), with well-prepared variety of entree's and other. Across the street, a general store offers an excellent grill for less expensive, fare. DO NOT miss the 10 a.m. guided rain-forest walk. Three hours with a very knowledgeable guide who can enlighten the most forest savvy without talking down to the least. Beds in Fireside rooms are pillow top kings in excellent condition. Even a heated pool. Excellent value for a fall getaway.

Room Tip: Main lodge rooms are of good quality but spare. Fire-side rooms are well worth the upgrade for a co...
