We stayed 1 night, July 6, 2011, in a lake view room in a building that's not part of the main lodge (#406) expecting the view to be blocked by trees but it was on the ground floor and the view was spectacular. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and exploring the grounds. Initially, I was disappointed we couldn't get a reservation for the historic lodge, but there was plenty of access to public areas of the lodge and grounds. Breakfast at the lodge was excellent. Only suggestion is to be wary of lodge dinner prices if you're on a budget. There isn't really anything priced for a budget traveller for dinner unless you're satisfied with eating only an appetizer.

Room Tip: Call the 800 number to get a room after scoping it out on the website. I needed 2 beds and hoped fo...

We are here right now and staying in the Lake View Annex. I am writing this review wearing ear plugs. There is NO soundproofing in the walls. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in the room next to yours. Conversations, laughing, belching, TV, toilets flushing, hairdryers, sex.... You can hear your own roommate urinating in the bathroom. If people walk by on outside your door, you hear them stomping.

The inn is picturesque, fireplace in main lodge is magnificent. Food was good when were here although pretty overpriced. Grounds are beautiful. Setting is incredible. Liked the nearby hiking trails.

The level of noise is totally unacceptable, especially at these prices!

Room Tip: If you stay here bring ear plugs and sleeping pills if you are not a heavy sleeper.

We stayed in the "Boathouse" portion of the lodge which was right next to Lake and very comfortable for four of us. The registration desk was not the friendliest or most knowledgeable and we weren't able to access our room until about 3:20 (check in time is 3) but other than that, very enjoyable stay. Restaurant in lodge is good although too pricey (as are all the restaurants in the lodges in the Olympic Nat'l Park system); enjoyed seeing hummingbirds flying up to feeders located right at restaurants windows. There is a coffee "bar" in lobby where you can grab a great latte, hot chocolate or other coffee drinks and scones/cinnamon buns in morning. Boat tour was fun--small group; tour guide was knowledgeable of local happenings as well as history of area. Nice game room for kids with ping pong table and some old fashioned arcade games. Provided a pleasant diversion for between activities or rainy times. Did not go in swimmng pool b/c of lack of time but it did look inviting!

This lodge is located on beautiful Lake Quinault in the Olympic Rain Forest. Not only is it located in a beautiful place, but there are many acitivities such as hiking trails, canoeing, row boating, swimming, fishing, etc. There is also a gorgous lawn with chairs for just sitting and relaxing. If you love birds, especially hummingbirds, you will love to just sit and watch them play around. We stayed in the main lodge which has a huge fireplace in the lobby, restaurant, gift shop, swimming pool, sauna, etc. They also have a game room with a pool table, ping pong table and some other games. If you like to play chest, there is the biggest chest set in the lobby that I have ever seen, it's huge! Overall this is a wonderful place to stay. Clean, friendly and helpful staff. Another great thing about this lodge is that the Ocean (Ruby Beach) is only about a 30 - 40 minute drive away which is another great place to visit in the Pacific Northwest. Hope your experience will be as great as the one we had!!

This was a great little get away. The hotel and stall were great. Great seeing the history of the hotel. Game room and pool great. I have already recommended the hotel. The Breakfast was great. Didn't have dinner there, not a good selection for us. Went to the other restaurant for dinner. The pillows were really bad "way to soft". Need to have carts to bring in and out luggage. Otherwise FANTASTIC

The bottom line for this hotel is everything is about twice as expensive as it should be.

We were in the addition which is off the main lodge. There is a short but uncovered path from the annex to the main lodge. It is short, but still rough when it is raining (which it usually is). Our room was spacious with a desk and a small balcony with a semi-lake view. The room lacked a fridge but had free WiFi. Beds were not very comfortable though. Very stiff.

The view of Lake Quinault was beautiful as is the lobby and fireplace. You get a slight view out of your room, but the best view is from the beach where chairs are provided.

The problem with this lodge is the price. I would like quite a lot more for my $199-$250 a night than the right to walk down to a beach. And they get you every way. The restaurant prices are outrageous. Entrees were priced from $18-$29 and the food WAS NOT of commensurate quality. The lake tours were $30 a person and a simple drink in the lobby set us back $8.25 a piece before tip.

And you'll pay because it turns out there are no cheaper dining alternatives ANYWHERE. There is a single restaurant down the street which was nearly as expensive and absolutely filthy.

Bottom line, there has GOT to be a better option if you're shooting for a getaway (we drove by Crescent Lake which was stunningly beautiful). I could recommend this lodge for $100-$125 a night. But at $200+, not even close. Save your money.

Room Tip: Chose another destination.

My friend and I spent three nights in June in a "lakeside room" with a lovely view of the lake. We ate breakfast and 2 of 3 dinners in the Lodge restaurant. The food was quite good though the portions were, as everywhere, too large. We are both familiar with the large, historic National Park Lodges that are found in a number of the National Parks and thus we know what to expect - and what not to expect.
We werevery impressed with the friendliness and the great efforts by the staff at the front desk and in the restaurant and bar areas to make our stay an excellent one. The public rooms of the Lodge were very enjoyable. Our room was comfortable, by no means luxurious, but the views of the lake more than compensated for the basics of the room and bath. I would highly recommend Lake Quinault for anyone looking for a happy base from which to enjoy the pleasures of exploring the peaceful gifts of the rain forest and of the nearby seacoast.
