Had breakfast this a.m. at the new Elmer's in Poulsbo (formerly Taprock Grill). The interior is largely the same, the breakfast menu is more extensive. We had eggs Benedict, the garden skillet and the cub cakes (from the children's menu). My husband, who generally doesn't like over-spiced and seasoned food, thought the hollandaise sauce was bland and the Canadian bacon tasteless. My skillet seemed to lack any seasoning; after adding salt and pepper it was okay, but the vegetables lacked flavor. Most surprising to us was our grandson's reaction to his pancakes. There was a smiling mouth of some sort of icing that he didn't like at all. I tried it and agreed with him. Not a pleasant taste, sweetish but again, flavorless. Nothing outstanding about the pancakes themselves.
The coffee was excellent, as was the friendly service. Since they are new, we'll go back and try other entrees. The place was packed by the time we left (and it never was before at that time of the morning) so we'll see how it shakes out over time.
