Very nice & clean B&B with wonderful, informative hosts and an excellent breakfast. Slept like a rock on a very comfortable mattress. Good location for all Port Townsend has to offer. Excellent value.

We stopped at the Blue Gull for two nights on the way to San Francisco and liked it so much we booked a night on the way back also. We found the rooms comfortable, the hosts very friendly, and loved meeting the other guests at the 9am breakfast. We all sat at a long table, and enjoyed the delicious breakfast together, while conversing with people from all over the world. The breakfast was well planned and noone would go away hungry. When we arrived at the Blue Gull, we were welcome to help ourselves to tea or coffee and home made cookies.
Good Food, comfortable rooms good company, isn't that why we go to B& Bs. The price was very reasonable too.

Room Tip: The ground floor room near at the front door could be noisy if people were talking out on the porch early in the morning. The bed in this room wasn't as comfortable as the other room we had upstairs.

We stayed here over the July 4th holiday weekend. We found the B&B to be welcoming, charming, and fully enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Pluses:
Delicious breakfast. I don't eat meat, and they easily accommodated me.
Free cookies, coffee, and tea all day.
Nice, quiet location in Uptown, walking distance from the main street.
Welcoming host John.
Lovely exterior gardens and sitting porches
Spotless interior
Comfy, cozy rooms and soft beds
Deliciously fluffy towels & robes

Minuses:
They serve breakfast at 9am, at a huge community table. If you're not into small talk with strangers first thing in the morning, this can be challenging.
The interior is lovely, but the overload of Disney memorabilia/toys/crap is a bit offputting from the Victorian atmosphere.
The plumbing is a bit old. It's the oldest house in Port Townsend, so it's to be expected, but you've been warned. :)

Highly recommend.

After looking online at several different places, because of the reviews and the price I decided on the Bull Gull Inn. I am very happy with my decision. We stayed in Teddy's room, very cute white wicker furniture. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on. The bed seemed a little small but it was still big enough for both of us. (not small people) It was very cozy. The breakfast was great, the first morning we had a very flavorful quiche that my husband loved, potatoes and this lovely scones with blackberry jam. They were amazing! The next morning was an egg and hash brown mixture, blueberry pancakes and smoked sausages. Both mornings we had coffee and orange juice and a little dish of fruit to start us out. The inn keepers were super friendly and gave as history of the town and advice on places to go. I loved the family style dinning that gave us a change to get to know the others staying at the inn.
Great trip!

Stayed two nights June 2013. Booked with understanding we're 'no carb' eaters, the owner agreed, said he'd take care of us. As to the breakfasts. First day, five of us. Two had french toast, one had gluten free, and all of us had egg and cheese cassarole plus ham. Also fresh fruit pieces and orange juice and coffee. Water was not offered. One serving, 9 am sharp, period. Day two, three of us, all offered hard cooked egg in sausage (4 pcs for 3 people), and six potatoes with cheese, plus fruit and OJ and coffee. So we were shorted on breakfast, they were skimpy for some reason. ON the room. Garden room tight, the bed a small queen, poor lighting, dirty carpet (big spots), claw foot tub dangerously slippery, shower inside curtains tight, no counter space in bathroom. Door to little garden room is in the bath. This room was a $30/night premium for the garden room, which we used for about 3 minutes. Pretty garden, but not really open to the guests. Room stuffy but an electric fan was provided. Treatment of guests: We'd never been to a B&B that kept us out of the kitchen. Here, the kitchen was locked after breakfast with no guests ever allowed. I commented on this and the hostess said "That's the way we run our business" in a stiff huffy tone. So no way to get hot water for tea in the late afternoon-the carafe is left with hot water at 8 am. And no ice for any reason, it's in the kitchen. Hostess persona is 'burned out', while hubby is out peddling real estate during the day. It's a nice enough place, but not if you have an alternative. No view, back on a bluff above the town. We won't go back there for any reason.

Room Tip: Very old building, floors creak, plumbing is noisy.
