“Amazing drinks and appetizers - perfect light dinner!”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

We stopped in here before a movie and sampled several of their $5 tapas plates or "bites", as they call them. Everything we tried -- bruschetta, oyster bisque, stuffed red pepper -- was outstanding. We also had several brews that were new to us -- also delicious. Everything was so good, we ended up staying for dessert and missing the movie. The creme brulee was worth it! The service was a little slow but that's pretty typical for laid-back Port Townsend. The relaxing, darkened room, charming decor, delicious food and rainy day made it easy to wait around a few extra minutes.

“Excellent food in a serene setting”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

We have eaten dinner in the ‘formal’ dining room three times and found the entrees exceptional. Choices include standbys such as steak, chicken and pasta dishes and more elegant entrees such as duck, lamb tagine or kabobs.

We have also eaten half a dozen times in the adjoining bar and had small plates that they call “Bites” (they could also be called appetizers or tapas) with wine or drinks. . . and that was perfect!

Aside from the great food we enjoy the serenity of the place. We can actually carry on a conversation with our friends without shouting.

“I love the cozy bar, with it's warm, rich colors, great beer and drink selection, and appetizers..”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

It's so nice to have a place to go for an intimate visit with my husband or friends, where we can enjoy an array of appetizers, many vegetarian, or dinner, and just about any drink you could think of. I love the local microbrews, and have been able to sample several I'd never had before, including my new favorite beers from Sound Brewery.
The servers are very friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is warm and cozy.
Alchemy is in an excellent location downtown, making it a perfect spot for a light, pre-movie dinner before the 15 second walk across the street to the Rose Theater.

“Romantic yet casual”

They offer chocolate martinis, flights of port and scrumptious appetizers. There is a happy hour for the pocket pinchers.

“A meal worth sharing”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

Recently changed from Galatea Cafe to Alchemy. Same layout, same great food. Good way to sample different items... choose a buch of appetizer plates and everyone shares.
Drink selection is good.
