“What a great weekend!”
Reviewed May 31, 2014 via mobile

We came to celebrate my mother in law's 70th birthday. We had the Homestead House & the Clubhouse. We didn't leave all weekend except to grocery shop...we had a great time! The only thing that would have made it better would have been better weather. Its a beautiful place for a very relaxing weekend to reconnect with family & friends

Thanks so much for your review! We are so happy to read that you had a wonderful birthday celebration weekend with family and friends in the Clubhouse and Homestead House. Sorry you weren't able to see the sun more during your visit - hopefully next time the weather will be more cooperative! We'd love to have you back again, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with others - we really appreciate it.

This is the sort of place that the moment I arrived I started thinking about when I could return again! The ocean air mingled with the sweet smell of (wisteria?) flowers and fresh cut grass...nothing but sky, mountains, ocean and rolling hills as our view...a campfire on the beach under the full moon, margaritas on the deck....the perfect place to reconnect with old friends. Private and peaceful and rich in history, the C.C. Beach Cabins are as charming as the nearby town of Port Townsend. The gracious hosts have thought of everything, even towels for your dog!
Back in the city again, when I need some serenity, I close my eyes and think of my happy place....the Chevy Chase Beach Cabins! Now to start planning my return visit......

We LOVED reading this! You perfectly captured a relaxing Spring getaway at Chevy Chase. The property is in it's full blooming glory right now - the smells, the colors, the May sunshine...so happy you were able to soak it all in. The best part of this business is watching returning guests start making memories here year after year - we hope your fantasy of returning comes true soon, we would love to have you back!

I fall in love with scenery as soon as my eyes gazed it. The tranquility and beauty of the backdraft of the Bay was so peaceful, and it really relaxes the inner part of one's soul that needed to recoup from the crowded City of Toronto, Canada where I belong. Loved the early walk down the Bay Beach with Scout, the white Labrador who was so loveable and well behaved. The environment out there was harmonious to nature and so was it's purity which was well maintained and sustained.a

Room Tip: All that I have to say about the comfort of travellers is that they should directly forward their ex...

My husband and I were taking a friend to Port Townsend for (her) first time. I've always stayed in town in the past, but the cost of two rooms in season for two nights is pretty high so I looked for something different this time. I am so glad I found this place. I absolutely loved it. We stayed in what I think biggest house on the property, the Pink house. It has a bedroom upstairs with a queen bed with an adjoining bathroom to a tiny room with two twin beds (on wooden platforms) So as long as you weren’t caring about privacy, you could sleep at least 4 people upstairs. The stairs could be a bit of a challenge for someone who is older, but we had no problem with them. There is also a queen bed room with bathroom off the kitchen.

It has pretty much anything you could need with a full kitchen, a small table and a larger dining table, plus a comfortable living room. There’s a tiny tv under the stairs if you are so inclined, but would hardly be worth the viewing in my opinion, and it’s so pretty there we didn’t need to spent time sitting around watching tv.

There is a trail (with a slightly scary looking, albeit stable) little bridge to cross to get down to the beach. This was one of my favorite parts of the stay. I went down four times, three times when the tide was out and one when it was way in. There are plenty of beautiful shells to collect, though mostly of one or two kinds. You won’t find glass on this beach, there are other beaches around PT for that.

The property is beautiful and well groomed. They accept dogs (with a fee), and have one that lives on the property. It feels very personal, family friendly, not sterile like many hotels leave you feeling. Can’t wait to go back with our daughter. It is about a ten minute drive into town, so you won't find any amenities nearby

Thank you for your amazing review of the Homestead House! So happy to hear that you found it well-equipped and comfortable for your group, and that the 10-minute drive into town was no problem. Our beach is filled with sand dollars (if you walk to the right at a low tide you can see hundreds of black fuzzy living ones in the shallow waters) and other shells - if you are after seaglass you should try to make the trek to Glass Beach! It is a fun adventure if the tides cooperate. It is best accessed from North Beach in PT. We look forward to having you back with your daughter. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences with other travellers.

This was our first visit here and what a find! We stayed in Cabin #10, a charming studio cabin that stuffed an amazing number of amenities in a small space. The grounds are lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. The resort is very dog-friendly, and our pet felt as welcome as we were. There's access to a private beach on Discovery Bay, and although the outdoor pool was not yet open we saw the staff prepping it for the upcoming season. There are also many other activities available for families, and Discovery Bay Golf Course is just across the street. There's something for everyone to enjoy.

We can't recommend this place enough and can't wait for our next visit.

Room Tip: Cabin #4 is located on the edge of the cliff with a sweeping view of the bay, but you can't go w...

Thank you for your review! We are happy to read that you found everything you needed in studio Cabin #10. We do feel like there is something here for everyone to enjoy (beach, golf, pool, lawn games, views...) and love it when we see that our guests feel the same way. Many folks hit the grocery store and then never leave the property. The pool just opened! Maybe next time you can take a dip. Take care until then!

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights in the little yellow cabin and really enjoyed ourselves. Equipped with everything we needed. Super friendly hosts. Beautiful location and great base point to visit Port Townsend, Sequim, Hoh State Park, etc. Access to the private beach was great. Hope we get a chance to return!

We are thrilled that you and your daughter loved Cabin #7! Our location does make us a good launching spot for Olympic Peninsula exploration - though many guests arrive with lofty goals of adventuring and end up never leaving the property. Thank you for sharing your experience with others - we'd love to have you back!

We stayed two nights in the Meadow cabin and wished we had booked a third. The cabin was comfortable and immaculate and came with everything we needed and a few things more, such as binoculars to look at the ducks on the pond. (We saw 8 species). It's a great getaway, very quiet, a wonderful place to read, paint, write, and enjoy the simplicity of not having to do anything other than relax.

We're looking forward to returning.

And it's pet friendly! Our small doing appreciated the bag of biscuits made in Port Townsend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the meadow Cabin . It's the only one not on the bay side, b ut we liked it very mu...

Thanks for taking the time to post a reveiw about the Meadow House! It is indeed a bird lover's paradise - we have had some serious bird watchers count species around the pond there and we were blown away! We are lucky to host a handful of Trumpeter Swans in the late-Winter every year which is SUCH a treat. Happy that you had the peace and quiet you needed to recharge your batteries, and love to hear that your little poodle enjoyed the locally made dog treats. We hope to have you back!
