Port Townsend Aero Museum
Attraction details

This is a nice little Aero museum, however it is not the Smithosian. There a lots of informative displays of vintage aircraft and is worth the price of admission.

the man running the museum was a real jerk. He made my family scared to even walk through the museum. Uptight and passive-aggressive.. wouldnt waste your money or time stopping here especially if you have small children.

We were surprised to find this museum after travelling to a local winery. We were impressed with the displays and that the museum help youth achieve training in aerospace.

The Port Townsend Aero Museum located outside of Port Townsend is a labor of love by a retired United Airlines pilot. It was built from the ground up, and is an outstanding small air museum. the aircraft restorations are first rate, and the museum has an extensive educational component that works with at-risk kids. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality, variety and extent of the collection and the facility. Great stop in the PT area, expecially with kids.

I went on the uptown tour and became totally engrossed with the history of the town and pioneers of the area. The caretaker of the toured house was full of interesting tidbits and information, and the tour guide was an awesome and well informed story teller and fact giver. She was so gracious and even dressed as in the 1890's. The caretaker loaned me a cute unbrella for my walk in the beautiful sunshine. I can't wait to do the down town tour next visit.
