I went there after reading great reviews of the resturant. The food was ok the service was good but who the hell charges for soda refills. The food was ok not very authentic kinda like fast Mexican food. I did not care for port Townsend so I will not be going back to this resturant

“Maybe just a bad day...food was awful.”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

I've been to El Serape at least a dozen times and the food has always been fair to good with very good service. On this visit, we had a tamale with shredded beef filling that was burned beyond recognition. A seafood burrito was large, but the filling was sparse and tasteless, with a sauce that had almost no flavor. The sauces on everything were bland. These were dishes we'd had previously enjoyed.

It may have been a fluke, but it will be a long time before we'll try El Serape again.

“Great food and service”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Great Mexican food--and a lot of it for fairly reasonable prices. Great, friendly service. Nice surroundings/decorations. We've eaten here twice on separate visits - and was enjoyable both times.

“Fajitas and margaritas”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

Average food, lousy drink (excessively sweet margarita mix) but served by a polite waiter even though he called me "amigo" a few more times than necessary.
